Recent Calls - Bennington Police Log

MAY 2009

POLICE HANDLED THE FOLLOWING CALLS FOR SERVICE:

May 1st

ARREST: At 3:30 p.m. police arrested Amanda Lewis for Issuing Bad Checks. She was released pending a court date.

ARREST: At 10:25 p.m. police arrested Samantha Coleman charging her with Driving While Intoxicated.


May 2nd

ARREST: At 12:30 police arrested Erin Burke charging her with Simple Assault. She was released pending court.


May 4th

HARASSMENT: At 3:00 p.m. police took a report of telephone harassment. After speaking to both parties no further action was necessary.


May 6th

INVESTIGATE: At 11:45 a.m. police began an investigation of Issuing Bad Checks from Harris Mini Mart.

MUTUAL AID: At 6:05 p.m. Police cover an assault incident for Antrim Police Department.

HARASSMENT: At 7:00 p.m. police took a report of harassment involving an ex-boyfriend sending his ex-girlfriend harassing e-mails.


May 7th

MUTUAL AID: At 10:15 a.m. police assisted the ATF in looking for a subject.

E911: Police received an Emergency 911 reporting a possible drunk driver. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.


May 8th

PROTECTIVE CUSTODY: At 8:40 p.m. police took a subject into Protective Custody for public intoxication. PC was due to safety issues.

CIVIL STANDBY: At 5:45 p.m. police were requested to do a civil standby on Bible Hill Road while personal belongings were picked up.

E911: At 6:00 p.m. police received an Emergency 911 call from the Paper Mill. Rescue was dispatched due to someone falling into an open grate.


May 9th

BURGLARY: At 2:40 p.m. police received a report of a possible burglary at a Pine Meadows Circle residence.

MUTUAL AID: At 3:00 p.m. police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on South Bennington Road. The called involved a person being cut by a lawnmower.

MUTUAL AID: At 3:30 p.m. police assisted the Hancock Fire Department/Police Department with a chimney fire.

E911: At 6:15 p.m. police responded to an Emergency 911 call at a Bible Hill Road residence. It was determined to have been accidental.

ARREST: At 9:15 p.m. police arrested Jake Terry charging him with Driving While Intoxicated. He was released pending court.


May 10th

CIVIL: At 10:00 p.m. police were requested to check the welfare of a suicidal person. Everything was found to being fine.


May 11th

JUVENILE: At 10:15 police began investigating a report of a juvenile who was setting fires. State agencies are getting involved.

E911: At 11:40 a.m. police responded to the Paper Mill for an Emergency 911 call. It was accidental.

MUTUAL AID: At 12:30 p.m. police assisted the Antrim Police with an arrest on Park Place.


May 12th

NOISE: At 9:05 a.m. police received a report of loud noise from a Main Street resident. She was spoken to and turned down the music.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: At 4:00 p.m. police responded to a two vehicle accident on State Route 202. One driver sustained minor injuries. One vehicle sustained heavy front end damage.

SUSPICIOUS LETTER: At 6:30 p.m. police responded to an Antrim Road resident for a report of a suspicious letter.

ARREST (Summons): At 10:00 p.m. police charged Jill Frink-Kendrick with Reckless Operation. She was released on a summons pending court.


May 13th

CHECK WELFARE: At 12:15 a.m. police were requested to check the welfare of a Pierce Hill Road resident. No problems were found.


May 15th

MUTUAL AID: At 12:00 police assisted the Hancock Police in investigating unauthorized campers. No problems were found.

LITTERING: At 2:00 p.m. police took a report of littering on State Route 202.

MUTUAL AID: At 2:30 p.m. police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Dodge Hill Road.

MUTUAL AID: At 9:00 p.m. police assisted the Antrim Police Department with an out-of-control individual.


May 16th

INVESTIGATE: At 10:30 a.m. police received a report of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

TRESPASSING: A 12:30 p.m. police took a report involving trespassing on private property at a North Bennington Road residence.

OVERDUE MOVIES: At 3:00 p.m. police were requested in getting overdue movies returned to the Bennington Country Store.

ARREST (Summons): At 5:30 p.m. police charged Brian Hamill with Driving on a Suspended Registration. He was released on a summons pending court.

ARREST: At 9:40 p.m. after making a motor vehicle stop police arrested; Brandon Bernier, 17, of Antrim charging him with Driving While Intoxicated, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, Illegal Possession of Alcohol and Open Container Violation. A juvenile was charged with Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and Open container Violation. Two other juveniles were taken into Protective Custody.


May 17th

INVESTIGATE: At 6:00 p.m. police received a report of a suspicious person on State Route 202. Investigation revealed a person hitchhiking. No problems were found.


May 18th

ANIMAL: At 8:00 a.m. police received a report of a pony running on Bible Hill Road. It was eventually located and returned home.


May 19th

INVESTIGATE: At 12:15 a.m. police were requested to investigate a suspicious vehicle on Birch Glen Drive. The vehicle was gone on arrival of the police.

FOUND ITEMS: At 8:15 a.m. police had some drug paraphernalia turned in. The items were found on Main Street.

ANIMAL: At 6:45 police received a report of a sick fox on Newhall Field. Police attempted to dispatch the fox; however, were unsuccessful.


May 20th

THEFT: At 1:15 p.m. police received a report involving theft of fruit trees.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: At 12:30 p.m. police responded to the Paper Mill for a report of motor vehicle accident. Investigation revealed one person was pulling out of a parking lot when it struck the bumper of a parked vehicle. The incident caused the front bumper to be ripped from the vehicle.

DRIVE-OFF: At 2:25 p.m. police received a report of a drive off (not paying for gas) from Harris Mini Mart. The driver was located and it was determined to have been accidental.

INVESTIGATE: At 3:00 p.m. police received a report of unwanted mail. A report was taken; however, no further action has been required.


May 21st

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: At 3:50 p.m. police investigated a two vehicle motor vehicle accident at the intersections of Antrim Road and State Route 202. There were no injuries.

NOISE: At 7:30 p.m. police received a report of loud noise coming from a sandpit on Greenfield Road. Police did not find anything.


May 22nd

ANIMAL: At 12:30 p.m. police picked up a stray black lab on Main Street and took it to the animal shelter.

ARREST: At 2:30 p.m. police arrested an individual on a bench warrant; however, it was discovered that it was a mistake caused by the court.

ARREST: At 8:50 p.m. police arrested Shawn Mooney charging him with Driving after Suspension. He was released pending court.


May 23rd

MUTUAL AID: At 12:30 p.m. police assisted the Antrim Police Department with a call for service involving a dispute over property.

LOITERING: At 11:55 p.m. police spoke to individuals who were hanging around the school and Laundromat. They were advised to depart the area which they did.


May 24th

MUTUAL AID: At 9:15 p.m. police assisted the Antrim Police Department with a call involving girls running away from the girl’s shelter.


May 25th

MUTUAL AID: At 2:30 p.m. police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Hancock Road.


May 26th

INVESTIGATE: At 2:30 a.m. police responded to a residential alarm on Francestown Road. It was discovered to have been accidental.


May 28th

MOTOR VEHICLE: At 3:40 p.m. police investigated the report of a missing vehicle from Francestown Road. Investigation continues.

HARASSMENT: At 6:30 p.m. police received a report of harassing phone calls. Police spoke to the person making the calls. No further action was necessary.

E911: At 8:30 p.m. after receiving an Emergency 911 call police responded to the Mountain Side Condos for an out-of-control juvenile. The juvenile was calmed down and police cleared without further action being necessary.


May 29th

UNWANTED SUBJECT: At 8:45 a.m. police responded to Pine Meadows Circle for a report of an unwanted person. Investigation revealed it was due to domestic issues. The person was gone by time police arrived.

DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: At 10:50 p.m. police responded to a Francestown Road residence for a domestic dispute. It was determined to have been verbal. Police calmed the situation and cleared without further action.

ARREST (Summons): At 11:50 p.m. police charged Timothy Farrell with Driving Without a Valid License. He was released on a summons pending court.


May 30th

MUTUAL AID: At 1:00 p.m. police covered a motor vehicle accident for Hancock Police. The accident occurred on State Route 202.

THEFT: At 6:15 police took a report of theft from a boat. Police have leads; however, at this time the investigation continues.

ARREST: At 9:23 police arrested Rodney Patton charging him with Driving While Intoxicated. He was released pending court.


May 31st

PROTECTIVE CUSTODY: At 12:10 a.m. police took a subject into Protective Custody for public intoxication and safety issues.

DOMESTIC: At 5:25 police investigated a domestic incident on North Bennington Road.

ARREST: At 9:30 p.m. police arrested Matt Rajaniemi charging him with Criminal Threatening and Simple Assault. He was released pending court.
