January 1st
ARREST: After responding to a report of a domestic disturbance on North Bennington Road police arrested Christina Emond, 19, of Bennington charging her with Simple Assault and Illegal Possession of Alcohol by Intoxication. She was released on $500 personal recognizance bail pending a February 12th court date in Hillsborough District Court.
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on South Bennington Road. Investigation revealed that Kenneth Pelletier, 16, of Hillsborough lost control of his vehicle, a 1988 Nissan, due to icy road conditions. The vehicle rolled over into a ditch. It appeared to be a total lost. Pelletier was not injured.
DOMESTIC: Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Francestown Road. Investigation revealed it was verbal. The situation was mediated. No further reports were made.
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident at the Crotched Mountain Ski & Ride parking lot. Investigation revealed that Ronald Higgins, 36, of Peterborough lost control of his vehicle, a 1983 Chevy Truck, due to icy conditions. His vehicle slid into a 2000 Volkswagen owned by Susan Spence, 41, of Amherst. The truck was not damaged and the VW received minor damage.
BAD CHECKS: Police began an investigation involving bad checks being passed at the Our Town Country Store.
January 2nd
ARREST: Police arrested Angela St John, 38, of Hancock charging her with Driving After Suspension and a warrant for Issuing Bad Checks, She was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a February 12th court date in Hillsborough District Court.
SUSPICIOUS LETTER: Police began investigating a suspicious letter which was received from out of state.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Fire Department with a call for service on Balch Farm Road.
January 4th
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Chief Baldwin of Hancock covered an accident for Bennington which occurred on State Route 202. A vehicle, a 2003 GMC, being driven by Nancy Discoll, 57, of Hancock struck a deer. The vehicle sustained very minor damage; however, the deer did not survive.
January 5 th
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: The police responded to North Bennington Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Investigation revealed there was no damage to the vehicle and the deer ran off into the woods.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a domestic disturbance call on Clinton Road.
January 6th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Francestown Police in searching a building which was found unsecured.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a call for service involving a simple assault.
January 7th
DOG BITE: Police received a report of a dog bite which occurred on Francestown Road. The investigation revealed that a man was riding his bicycle when he was bitten by a dog. The bite did cause a small abrasion. Investigation also revealed that the dog was registered and was current with rabies vaccinations; however, the dog is still being quarantined for ten days. The owner of the dog received a summons. Investigation continues.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the State Police by investigating an alarm in Antrim.
January 8th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a domestic disturbance call for service on Clinton Road.
January 9th
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police received a report of an accident on North Bennington Road involving a car striking a dog. The dog did not survive.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a stray dog on Whittemore Lake Road. The owner was contacted.
CIVIL: Police received a complaint regarding issues between landlord and tenant. The landlord was advised it was a civil matter and given information how to handle it through the court system.
DOMESTIC: Police responded to a domestic disturbance call for service on Old Hancock Road. Investigation revealed it was verbal. The situation was calmed down without further action being necessary by police.
January 10th
CIVIL STANDBY: Police did a civil standby at a Pine Meadows Circle residence while personal property was picked up.
JUVENILE: Police received a report of an altercation between two students on a school bus. Investigation continues at this time.
CIVIL STANDBY: Police were requested to do a civil standby at a Francestown Road residence while an ex-tenant picked up personal property.
CHECK WELFARE: Police were requested to check the welfare of a resident who lives on Dodge Road. He was found to being doing fine.
MUTUAL AID: Police were requested to assist the Antrim Police with an arrest on State Route 202.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
THEFT: Police took a report of a theft of a parka from the Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
January 11th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Merrill Drive.
January 12th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
January 13th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
NEIGHBOR DISPUTE: Police mediated a neighbor dispute on Starrett Road regarding one neighbor reportedly backing into another neighbor’s driveway.
January 14th
PROTECTIVE CUSTODY: Police received a report of an intoxicated person walking on State Route 202. Police subsequently took the person into Protective Custody and gave him a ride home.
CIVIL STANDBY: Police were requested to do a civil standby at a Pine Meadows Circle residence while personal property was picked up.’
E911: Police received an Emergency 911 call from a Main Street residence. Investigation revealed a baby was playing with the phone.
MUTUAL AID: Police were requested to assist the Antrim Police Department in checking the welfare of a resident on Park Place.
January 15th
FORGERY: Police received a report from a resident regarding forgery of some of his checks. It is believed the incident is due to a past relationship. Investigation continues.
ALARM Police responded to an alarm at a local business. It was determined to have been accidental due to the weather.
THEFT: Police took a report of a theft involving a backpack which was taken from Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
January 16th
MOTORIST ASSIST: Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Crotched Mountain Ski Area. Investigation revealed that a vehicle slid into a ditch by the parking lot. The cause was the icy conditions. It was pulled out of the ditch at which time it was discovered there was no damage to the vehicle.
CITIZEN ASSIST: Police assisted a motorist on Francestown Road after he lost control of his vehicle and slid into a ditch. There were no injuries or damage.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police Department with a motor vehicle lockout on Concord Street.
MUTUAL AID: Police covered a motor vehicle accident for Antrim Police which involved a town vehicle.
January 17th
HARASSMENT: Police received a report from a Francestown Road resident stating she was being harassed by received unwanted phone calls. The party making the calls was contacted and warned. There have been no further complaints.
DOMESTIC: Police responded to a Hancock Road residence for a report of a domestic dispute. It was determined to have been verbal. The situation was calmed down without further action being necessary.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police Department with a motor vehicle lockout at the Antrim Girl’s Shelter.
January 18th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hillsborough Police with a domestic disturbance call for service on West Main Street.
January 19th
THEFT: Police took a report from a North Bennington Road regarding theft of items such as guns, binoculars and cameras. Investigation continues.
ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop Christopher Chandler, 26, of Peterborough was arrested on a warrant out of Hillsborough. The warrant was for theft. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a February 26th court date in Hillsborough District Court.
TRESPASSING: Police received a report from a Mountain Road resident regarding a neighbor trespassing onto her property. Investigation revealed that the neighbor did not trespass; however, her dog might have gone onto the property. Police spoke to both neighbors without further action being necessary.
PROTECTIVE CUSTODY: Police responded to the Crotched Mountain Ski Area for a patron refusing to leave. He was refused service by the bar due to intoxication and subsequently refused to leave. Police took the person into Protective Custody and gave him a ride home. No further action was required.
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident. The accident was found to have occurred in Hancock (by the Bennington town line). Police handed the case over to Hancock; however, they assisted in the investigation.
ANIMAL: Police received two reports of stray dogs. One was on South Bennington Road and one was on Old Stagecoach Road.
January 20th
ARREST: Police took a juvenile into custody for being in possession of a stolen snowboard. There are at least two other people involved. The case will be heard in juvenile court; however, at this time the investigation continues.
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to South Bennington Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a dog being struck. The dog was taken to the vet; however, it did not survive.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with two medical calls at the Crotched Mountain Ski Area.

January 21st
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on South Bennington Road.
January 22nd
THEFT: Police picked up five theft reports for recent thefts at the ski area. The thefts included; two snowboards, two backpacks and one pair of skis.
ARREST: After responding to Pine Meadows Circle for a report of a domestic disturbance police arrested Glynn Lynn, 53, of Bennington charging him with Simple Assault. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a February 12th court date in Hillsborough District Court.
January 24th
ILLEGAL DUMPING: Police received a report regarding dumping of tires on Greenfield Road. Investigation revealed the land owner took care of the tires. No further action was necessary.
SHOTS FIRED: Police received a report of shots fired on North Bennington Road. Investigation revealed two individuals target practicing at Curtis Campground. Everything was safe and no problems found.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with two medical calls at Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
January 25th
CIVIL STANDBY: Police did a civil standby while a husband, who had a restraining order against him, picked up some personal property.

January 26th
DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Police responded to North Bennington Road for a report of a domestic dispute. Investigation revealed that a mother and daughter had a verbal argument. With help from relatives the situation was calmed down. No further action was necessary.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Police received a report from an Onset Road resident stating she was being harassed and threatened by her ex-boyfriend. A restraining order was requested and authorized. The allegations of threatening are being investigated.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Fire Department with a call for service on Main Street.
January 27th
ARREST: Police arrested two juveniles charging them with Receiving Stolen Property for their part in the theft of a snowboard. One other person has theft charges pending . The case will be heard in Hillsborough District Court.
ARREST: Police arrested David White, 38, formerly of Bennington charging him with making criminal threats toward his ex-girlfriend. He was held in Hillsborough County House of Corrections on $1000 cash bail pending a January 29th court date in Hillsborough District Court.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
January 28th
E911: Police responded to an Emergency 911 call to Crotched Mountain Ski Area. Investigation revealed juveniles were playing with the phone on the elevator. Police took a report and will follow up with the parents.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
January 29th
INVESTIGATE: Police received a report from an Acre Street resident regarding his neighbor bothering his visitors. Investigation continues.
ARREST: After responding to North Bennington Road for a report of a domestic disturbance police arrested Kenneth Holt, 42, of Bennington was charged with Simple Assault. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a March 12th court date in Hillsborough District Court.
January 30th
JUVENILE: Police received a report of a missing 10 year old juvenile on Onset Road. He returned home safely. He decided he wanted to play in the woods.
January 31st
ARREST: After a motor vehicle stop on State Route 202 police arrested Jessica Warren, 29, of Antrim. She was taken into protective custody for intoxication; however, she also had a warrant for her arrest. She was released on $250.00 cash bail pending a February 14th court date in Keene District Court.
ARREST: After a motor vehicle stop on State Route 202 police arrested Angela St John, 38, of Hancock charging her with driving after suspension. She was released on $5000 personal recognizance bail pending a March 12th court date in Hillsborough District Court.
