FEBRUARY 2009

POLICE HANDLED THE FOLLOWING CALLS FOR SERVICE:

February 1st

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Ski Area.


February 2nd

THEFT: Police took a report of a missing chain saw.


February 3rd

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a dog bite which occurred at a North Bennington Road residence.


February 5th

INVESTIGATE: Police received a bad check from the Town Office. The person passing the check was contacted and agreed to make good on the check.

DOMESTIC/PROTECTIVE CUSTODY: Police responded to a Francestown Road residence for a domestic incident. One individual was taken into protective custody pending an evaluation. No further issues were reported.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Fire Department with a call for service at the Monadnock Paper Mill.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Ski Area.


February 6th

CIVIL STANDBY: Police conducted a civil standby at a Pierce Hill Road residence while personal property was picked up.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a call involving an injured student at the elementary school.


February 7th

CIVIL STANDBY: Police conducted a civil standby at a State Route 202 residence while personal property was picked up.

ARREST: Police charged a juvenile with shoplifting. The case will be handled within the department.

E911: Police received an emergency 911 call from the Ski Area. It was determined to have been accidental.

CIVIL: Police conducted a civil standby while personal property was picked up from a Pierce Hill Road residence.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Ski Area.

ILLEGAL DUMPING: Police investigated a report of illegal dumping at a Main Street business.

INVESTIGATE: Police investigated an emergency 911 call at the Ski Area. No problems were found.


February 8th

E911: Police received an emergency 911 call from a local business. No problems were found.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Onset Road.


February 9th

INVESTIGATE: Police received a bad check which was presented to the Bennington Country Store. Investigation continues.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Police took a report of criminal mischief from a Hancock Road resident. The mischief involved damage to a garden hose.

ARREST: Police had a Pine Meadows Circle resident turn himself in on a civil bench warrant.


February 10th

CIVIL: Police mediated an incident on Main Street which involved a juvenile not wanting to go to school.

JUVENILE: Police received a report of three juveniles acting suspicious on State Route 202. No problems were found.


February 11th

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of gun shots on Francestown Road. Police were unable to find any problems.


February 12th

CIVIL: Police received a report involving property and restraining order issues from a Birch Glen Drive resident.

CITIZEN ASSIST: Police were requested to check the welfare of a South Bennington Road resident. He was found to be doing fine.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Police received a report of a suspicious person at a Francestown Road property. The individual was allowed to be on the property.


February 13th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call at a State Route 202 residence.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance twice with medical calls at the Ski Area.


February 14th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Hancock Road.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Ski Area.


February 16th

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to North Bennington Road for a motor vehicle accident. The paper delivery person fell asleep, causing the accident. He was not injured; however, the vehicle was damaged.

CIVIL: Police received a report of a property dispute at a Birch Glen Drive residence. The problem was mediated.

BAD CHECKS: Police received two bad checks from a local business.

SCAM: Police had two residents turn over letters which were obviously a scam attempt.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Ski Area.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Police investigate a report of vandalism involving mailbox damage on Birch Road.

HARASSMENT: Police took a report of harassment from an Onset Road resident reporting unwanted calls from her ex-husband.


February 17th

THEFT: Police took a report of theft of skis from the Crotched Mountain Ski Area.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to State Route 202 for a motor vehicle accident between a vehicle and a deer. The vehicle was damaged. The deer had to be put down.


February 18th

ARREST: Police arrested an individual for passing two bad checks to a local business.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to Francestown Road for a report of an accident. Investigation revealed a vehicle ran into the snow bank. There was no damage or injury.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to Francestown Road for a report of an accident. Investigation revealed a two vehicle collision. There were no injuries; however, both vehicles sustained damage.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to Francestown Road for a report of an accident. One vehicle ran into a snow bank. He was not injured; however, the vehicle did sustain some damage.


February 19th

JUVENILE: Police medicated a dispute between a mother and son due to the son not wanting to go to school.

ARREST: Police arrested a female charging her with seven counts of conspiracy and two counts of Criminal Liability for the Conduct of Another.

ARREST: Police arrested a second female charging her with three counts of Criminal Liability for the Conduct of Another.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Ski Area.

DOMESTIC/HARASSMENT: Police received a report involving domestic issues and harassment between ex-intimate partners.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a call for service involving a Driving While Intoxicated investigation.


February 20th

JUVENILE: Police received a report of two juveniles standing in the cold. Their parents were unaware of a school delay. The juveniles were taken care of without incident.

ARREST: Police arrested a male subject charging him with seven counts of Criminal Mischief involving the smashing of mailboxes.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hancock Police with a call for service involving an arrest of a motorist Driving While Intoxicated.


February 21st

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Ski Area.


February 22nd

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call at a State Route 202 residence.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of a snowmobiler skimming the river. Nothing was found.

SHOTS FIRED: Police received a report of shots fired from a North Bennington Road residence. Nothing was found.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call at a North Bennington Road residence.


February 23rd

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to Francestown Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Investigation revealed a vehicle ran into the snow bank; however, there was no damage or injury.

CIVIL STANDBY: Police were requested to do a civil standby at a Birch Glen Drive residence while the property was inspected.

THEFTS: Police received five theft reports involving three snowboards and two pair of skis.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Ski Area.


February 24th

THEFT: Police took a report of a theft of a snowboard from the Ski Area.


February 25th

BAD CHECKS: Police received a bad check which was presented at a local business.


February 26th

ARREST: Police received a civil warrant on a resident who turn himself in.

ARREST: Police arrested a Peterborough resident charging her with Issuing a Bad Check.

ARREST: Police arrested a North Bennington Road resident charging him with Criminal Mischief for smashing out a vehicle window.


February 27th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Ski Area.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police began investigating a motor vehicle accident which occurred on North Bennington Road. Investigation continues due to the occupants running from the scene.

CIVIL STANDBY: Police did a civil standby at a Birch Glen Drive residence while property was collected.


February 28th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a call for service involving an assault incident at a local bar.

CITIZEN ASSIST: Police assisted a first time mother with installing a child safety seat.

JUVENILE: Police received a report of a missing juvenile. She was later located.

JUVENILE: Police received a report of two juveniles fighting. The dispute was mediated.

INVESTIGATE: Police investigated a report of loud noise.
