FEBRUARY 2010
POLICE HANDLED THE FOLLOWING CALLS FOR SERVICE:
February 1 st
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle at the Highland Inn. No problems were located. The vehicle departed.
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: Police received a report that a resident found a shell on his vehicle hood. This occurred on two separate occasions.
February 2nd
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a suspicious motor vehicle stop.
February 3rd
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: Police received a report of a water leak which occurred at a vacant property.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
February 4th
ARREST: Police arrested Mark Davies for Breach of Bail. He was transported to Hillsborough County Jail.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a burglary follow-up.
February 5th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call on Mountain Road.
JUVENILE: Police spoke to four juveniles who were found playing on an excavator on Acre Street.
INVESTIGATE: Police assisted in investigation of a hit-and-run out of Hillsborough.
E911: Police received an Emergency 911 call from the Crotched Mountain Ski Area elevator. No problems were found.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
February 7th
INVESTIGATE: Police investigated a case involving Criminal Threatening and Simple Assault.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of two lost dogs on Starrett Road.
February 8th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Fire Department at the scene of a dumpster fire on State Route 202.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Police responded to Rymes Heating for an out of control person. The person eventually calmed down and departed with his caretaker without further incident.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with traffic at a fire scene on Main Street.
February 9th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
February 10th
CIVIL: Police assisted the Bennington Country Store with a civil matter involving overdue charges.
ARREST: Police arrested Frederick Sprague of Henniker on a warrant for being a Fugitive from Justice. He was transported to Hillsborough County House of Corrections awaiting extradition to Massachusetts.
INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of credit card fraud. Investigation continues.
February 11th
LITTERING: Police received a report of a motorist littering on State Route 202. Investigation continues.
ARREST: Police arrested Corey Grady for Unlawful Possession of Alcohol. He was released pending a court date in Henniker District Court.
February 12th
ARREST: Police arrested Ellen Druan for Driving after Suspension. She was released on a summons pending a court date in Henniker District Court.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
February 13th
INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of suspicious activity on Starrett Road. Nothing was found.
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Francestown Road. The vehicle sustained major front end damage after striking a telephone pole. Two people were transported to the hospital.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim with two medical calls at the Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a call for service involving an intoxicated person.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Greenfield Police with traffic at a fire scene on Greenfield Road.
February 14th
INVESTIGATE: Police investigated a call for service involving an untimely death.
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: Police received a report of a vehicle following a female on Francestown Road.
ARREST: Police arrested Joe Barry charging him with Simple Assault. He was released pending a court date in Henniker District Court.
February 15th
ANIMAL: Police received a report of two stray dogs at the school. The owner caught the dogs.
February 16th
MISSING PERSON: Police received a report of a missing person. Investigation revealed a mother was missing for approximately 24 hours. She left her juvenile son home without making contact with him during the time she was gone. Investigation continues.
E911: Police received an Emergency 911 call from the Crotched Mountain Ski Area No emergency was found.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police received a report of a disabled vehicle on Old Greenfield Road. It was discovered that a vehicle was involved in an accident and attempted to drive home; however, the vehicle sustained damage and was not able to be driven.
February 17th
SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Police received a report of a suspicious people at a vacant house on State Route 202. No problems were found. It was a realtor showing the house.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle at the Crotched Mountain Ski Area. The vehicle was gone by time police arrived
February 18th
ANIMAL: Police received a report of loose horses on North Bennington Road. The owner was contacted and caught them.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Police received a report of a suspicious person by the Bennington Country Store. No problems were found – just someone hanging out.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a motor vehicle incident involving an intoxicated driver.
February 20th
MUTUAL AID: At 2:45 p.m. police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with two medical calls at the Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
ARREST: At 9:20 p.m. police arrested Tyler Skiff, 18, of Peterborough charging him with Driving after Suspension and License Prohibitions. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an April 8th court date in Henniker District Court.
February 22nd
MUTUAL AID: At 11:30 a.m. police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at the Crotched Mountain Ski Area.
JUVENILE: At 4:00 p.m. police received a report of a juvenile throwing rocks at people. Police spoke to the mother. No further action was required.
February 23rd
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: At 1:45 a.m. police received a report of a suspicious vehicle on South Bennington Road. Police found two teenagers sleeping. Nothing wrong was found they were just sleeping.
ARREST: At 6:15 p.m. police arrested Casey Cook, 28, of Antrim charging him with Illegal Possession of a Controlled Drug and Illegal Drugs in a Motor Vehicle. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an April 8th court date in Henniker District Court.
February 26th
ALARM: At 3:30 p.m. police responded to a town building for an alarm. It was determined to have been accidental due to a storm related issue.
E911: At 12:30 p.m. police responded to the ski area for an Emergency 911 call coming from the elevator. Police did not find the source of the 911 call.
MUTUAL AID: At 2:10 police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on South Bennington Road. The issue was due to an elderly person being cold because of no heat in the house.
JUVENILE: At 7:25 p.m. police responded to an Acre Street residence due to a juvenile wanting to leave home. After speaking to her she calmed down and agreed to stay home. No further action was necessary.
February 27th
INVESTIGATE: At 12:00 p.m. police had to speak to some pedestrians who were walking around and over some down power lines.
INVESTIGATE: At 6:45 p.m. police received a loud music report from a State Route 202 residence. The music was determined not to be unreasonable; however, police did speak to the resident.
February 28th
ANIMAL: At 3:45 p.m. police received a report of a stray dog at the Crotched Mountain Ski Area. It was found to be a lost dog which was reported missing on Feb 27 th. The owner and dog were reunited.
