Recent Calls - Bennington Police Log

March 1st

MOTOR VEHICLE: Police received a report of a motorist failing to yield to pedestrians in which the reporting person stating the situation was dangerous to her and her children. Police have a vehicle identification. Investigation continues.

THEFT: Police took a report of theft involving a pair of skis being stolen from Crotched Mountain Ski Area.

CIVIL STANDBY: Police were requested to do a civil standby on Pine Meadows circle while a person was allowed to move back into a residence.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hancock Police with a motor vehicle accident on State Route 202.


March 2nd

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: Police received a report of suspicious activity involving an unwanted person at a Mountain Side Condo.

INVESTIGATION: Police received a report from a person plowing regarding a Pierce Hill Road resident moving his mailbox within the right of way.

MOTOR VEHICLE: Police received a report of a tractor across the roadway on Greenfield Road. Investigation revealed a resident was plowing when he had mechanical problems with his tractor. It was moved out of the roadway.

ARREST: Police arrested a juvenile for a theft of a snowboard from the ski area. The case will be referred to juvenile court.


March 4th

ARREST: After an investigation of a domestic incident police arrested Heather Huntington, 24, of Bennington charging her with Simple Assault. She was released on $500 personal recognizance bail pending a May 14th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

THEFT: Police received a report of a theft involving political signs. Police were able to discovery who took the sign. Since it was placed on private property without permission no further action was necessary. The sign was returned.

THEFT: Police took a report of a theft involving a pair of skis being stolen from the Crotched Mountain Ski Area.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on North Bennington Road involving a 9 month old child.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on State Route 202.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on State Route 202.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a domestic dispute incident on Clinton Road.

CIVIL: Police assisted was requested involving restitution for non-payment to damage done to a mailbox.


March 5th

THEFT: Police received a report of a theft involving skis being stolen from Crotched Mountain Ski Area.

ANIMAL: Police had a stray dog brought to the police station. The owner was located and the dog returned.

BAD CHECK: Police began investigating a bad check which was presented to Harris’ Mini Mart.


March 6th

ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop for an un-inspected vehicle police arrested Eric Provencher, 35, of Antrim charging him with Driving After Suspension. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an April 9th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a loose horse on Durgin Road. The owner was notified.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Greenfield Police with a residential alarm on Old Bennington Road.

INVESTIGATION: Police began an investigation involving a personal check being stolen.

JUVENILE: Police responded to the Elementary school for an out-of-control student. He was calmed down. A parent was notified to pick the student up from school.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a black lab running loose on Acre Street. Police were unable to locate the dog.


March 7th

THEFT: Police received a report regarding a theft of a check. Police have a suspect; however, at this point the investigation continues.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on North Bennington Road.


March 9th

ARREST: After an investigation involving a report of a violation of a protective order Robert Dehart, 41, of Francestown was arrested and charged with Violation of a Stalking Order and Stalking. He was transported to Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending an arraignment. The arraignment was on March 12th and at that time Dehart was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail pending a trial date of May 14th in Hillsborough District Court.

SEXUAL ASSAULT: Police received a report involving sexual assault. The assault involves juveniles. Investigation continues.

INVESTIGATION: Police began investigating a report of Violation of a Stalking Order. Investigation continues.

FRAUD: Police received a report and began an investigation involving a report of fraud. The report involves theft of identity and purchases of merchandise.

CITIZEN ASSIST: Police assisted a motorist at the Crotched Mountain Ski Area after he locked his keys in his vehicle.


March 10th

ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop police arrested Jamie Casey, 19, of New York for Illegal Transportation of Alcohol. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a May 14th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a burglary in progress call on Bryers Lane.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at Crotched Mountain Ski Area.


March 11th

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Antrim Road. Investigation revealed that Angela Garner, 20, of Bennington lost control of her vehicle, a 2004 Isuzu Rodeo, due to icy road conditions. The vehicle struck a retaining wall and telephone pole. Garner received minor injuries and was transported to MCH. The vehicle was a total loss.

INVESTIGATION: Police began an investigation involving an untimely and suspicious death.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hancock Police with a motor vehicle stop on State Route 202.


March 12th

ARREST: During an investigation involving a mechanical problem with a vehicle police arrested Krystal Boyle, 27, of Portsmouth charging her with Driving After Suspension. She was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an April 9th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

INVESTIGATION: After a motor vehicle stop police confiscated numerous syringes and spoons. Police believe the syringes might contain an Illegal Drug – Heroin. The items will be sent to the state lab for analysis. Pending results of the tests the investigation continues.

JUVENILE: Police responded to the elementary school for an out-of-control student. He was calmed down and turned over to a parent.


March 13th

CIVIL: Police were requested to assist in a civil matter at a State Route 202 residence. The issue was the result of an issue over property.

INVESTIGATION: Police responded to a residence on State Route 202 for a report of suspicious activity. Investigation revealed that a resident had someone taking pictures of his house which he did not want happening. The individual taking the pictures was advised not to be on the property.


March 15th

ARREST: Police arrested Mary Arsenault, 37, of Bennington on a civil warrant. She was released on $100 cash bail pending an April 18th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

E911: Police responded to an Emergency 911 call at a Birch Drive residence. Investigation revealed children playing with the telephone.

ARREST: Police arrested Christopher Brissette, 32, of Antrim on three bench warrants for failure to pay fines and penalties. He was released on $1500 personal recognizance bail pending an April 12th court date in Henniker District Court.


March 16th

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Francestown Road. Investigation revealed Joseph Yankiewicz, 51, of Connecticut lost control of his vehicle, a 1996 Jeep, on icy road conditions and went off the roadway. There were no injuries; however, his vehicle had to be towed due to the damage.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Greenfield Road. Investigation revealed that Andrea Weinsberg, 78, of Greenfield lost control of her vehicle, a 2003 Jeep, due to icy road conditions. She crossed into oncoming traffic resulting in Patricia Parker, 34, of Henniker striking Wensbergs vehicle. Parker was transported to MCH with minor injuries. Both vehicles sustained major damage.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with two medical calls for service. One was on South Bennington Road and one was on Onset Road.


March 17th

CITIZEN ASSIST: Police assisted a motorist on Greenfield Road after a vehicle slid off the roadway. There were no injuries or damage.

CITIZEN ASSIST: Police assisted a motorist on Main Street after the vehicle slid off the roadway into a snowbank. There were no injuries or damage.

ARREST: After a motor vehicle stop for speed police arrested Thomas Cuddy, 21, of Amherst charging him with Illegal Transportation of a Controlled Drug. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a May 14th court date in Hillsborough District Court.


March 18th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Ambulance with a medical call at Crotched Mountain Ski Area.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Francestown Road.


March 19th

BAD CHECK: Police picked up sight bad checks written by five people from Harris’ Mini Mart. Investigation continues.

ABANDONED VEHICLE: Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle in a parking lot on Main Street. The owner was located and moved the vehicle.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with an arrest on Old North Branch Road.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hancock Police with an arrest on Birch Road.

ILLEGAL DUMPING: Police received a report of someone Illegal Dumping trash into a private dumpster.

CIVIL: Police received a report from a landlord on Old Hancock Road regarding issues with her tenant.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Police responded to Cross Street for a report of a domestic dispute. The situation was verbal. One party departed the residence. Police cleared without further action.


March 20th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a suicidal subject at a State Route 202 residence.

ARREST: Police arrested Danielle Harper, 19, of Bennington charging her with Issuing Bad Checks to Harris’ Mini Mart. She was released on $500 personal recognizance bail pending a May 14th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

ARREST: Police arrested Bryan Arsenault, 21, of Bennington charging him with Issuing Bad Checks to Harris’ Mini Mart. He was released on $500 personal recognizance bail pending a May 14th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

ANIMAL: Police found a stray dog on Francestown Road. The owner of the dog was located.

CHECK WELFARE: Police were requested to check the welfare of some children at a South Bennington Road residence. They were found to be doing fine.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a lost black lab puppy on Eaton Avenue. There has been no luck in finding the dog.

MUTUAL AID: Police were requested to assist the Bennington Rescue Department at an Acre Street residence for a possible juvenile overdosing.


March 21st

ARREST: Police arrested David Murdough, 52, of Windsor charging him with Issuing Bad Checks to Harris’ Mini Mart. He was released on $500 personal recognizance bail pending a May 14th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

ARREST: Police arrested Brian Boucher, 22, of Antrim charging him with Issuing Bad Checks to Harris’ Mini Mart. He was released on $500 personal recognizance bail pending a May 14th court date in Hillsborough District Court.


March 23rd

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report from a census taker regarding an issue with a resident on Knightland Road. The situation was taken care of without further issue.

JUVENILE: Police received a report of an out-of-control juvenile at the Elementary School. He was calmed down and released to a parent.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Francestown Police Department with a motor vehicle stop on 2nd NH Turnpike.


March 24th

CITIZEN ASSIST: Police assisted a motorist by unlocking her vehicle after she locked the keys in it while visiting the ski area.

ARREST: After responding to a report of a domestic dispute police arrested Adam Perry, 26, of Bennington charging him with Simple Assault and Interfering with Emergency Communications. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a May 14th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

CITIZEN ASSIST: Police assisted a motorist on Durgin Road who locked his keys in his vehicle.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Fire Department with an animal rescue call involving a dog falling through the ice on the Contoocock River.


March 25th

THEFT: Police investigated a report of a theft of a motor vehicle from South Bennington Road. Police have identified two juveniles involved. The case will be heard in juvenile court.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of a fuel spill at Harris’ Mini Mart. The Bennington Fire Department was notified at which time they took over the scene.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of loud noise coming from the Crotched Mountain Ski Area. No problems and/or noise were found.

THEFT: Police received a report of a vehicle being taken from a residence on Whittemore Lake Road. Investigation revealed it was a civil matter.


March 26th

CIVIL: Police received a report of problems between a husband and wife from Birch Glen Drive. It was determined to be a civil issue.

CIVIL: Police received a report of an individual borrowing a snowboard then agreeing to buy it. Subsequently he did not pay for it and did not return it. It was decided to be a civil matter.

INVESTIGATION: Police received a report from a Cross Street resident stating an ex-girlfriend threatened to come to his residence and destroy his property. He was advised to contact police if the person came to the residence. No further calls were received.


March 27th

ANIMAL: Police received a call from a Birch Glen Drive resident stating she trapped a raccoon. The raccoon was picked up and taken away from the residence and released.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a call for service on North Bennington Road involving a woman falling off a horse.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of a motorist driving off from Rymes without paying for gas. It was determined to have been accidental.

HARASSMENT: Police took a report from a Greenfield Road resident regarding receiving harassing phone calls. Investigation continues.


March 28th

HARASSMENT: Police received a report from a State Route 202 resident regarding receiving harassing phone calls. Investigation continues.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a call for service on Contoocock Road involving a suicidal person.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a call involving a juvenile playing on ice.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a stray dog at the Mountain Side Condos. The owner was located.


March 29th

ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop police arrested Maria Krasinski, 41, of Peterborough charging her with Driving After Suspension and Driving on a Suspended Registration. She was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a May 14th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

ARREST: After an investigation of a report of a stolen vehicle police were able to identify two juveniles in the incident. One will be charged for Driving Without a License and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. The case will be heard in juvenile court.

ARREST: After a motor vehicle stop police charged Jamie Wood, 31, of Antrim with Driving on a Suspended Registration. He was released on $500 personal recognizance bail pending a May 14th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

LOUD NOISE: Police received a report of loud music at the ski area. Police did not find any problems.


March 30th

ARREST: After a motor vehicle stop police took Forrest Chauncey, 23, of Antrim into Protective Custody for intoxication. He was released to an adult.


March 31st

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police Department with a fight at a local club on Main Street.
