April 1st
JUVENILE: Police received a report of a missing child from an Onset Road residence. Investigation revealed the child was with her father.
JUVENILE: Police began an investigation involving the report of a juvenile being assaulted. Investigation continues.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a stray dog on Old Greenfield Road. The owner was notified.
April 2nd
E911: Police received an Emergency 911 call from a South Bennington Road residence. Investigation revealed a child was playing with the telephone.
INVESTIGATION: Police received a report regarding a mother leaving a child unattended in a vehicle on Main Street. Police did not find the vehicle; however, they have an identity of the driver. Investigation continues.
April 3rd
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on North Bennington Road.
April 4th
CHECK WELFARE: Police received three requests to check the welfare of residents. The three people were checked on and all were doing fine.
HARASSMENT: Police received a report from a Starrett Road resident regarding receiving harassing e-mails. Investigation continues.
ACCIDENT: Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident on Francestown Road. Investigation revealed a vehicle slid off the roadway; however, there was no damage to the vehicle.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Greenfield Police Department with two calls for service. One was a motor vehicle accident on Crotched Mountain Road and one was an accident on Sawmill Road.
April 5th
ARREST: Police arrested Kerri Brown, 24, of Littleton charging her with Illegal Possession of a Controlled Drug identified as heroin. She was released on $20,000 personal recognizance bail pending a May 14th court date in Hillsborough District Court.
INVESTIGATION: Police began an investigation involving a child neglect charge involving a Francestown Road resident.
April 6th
ARREST: Police arrested Krystal Boyle, 27, of Portsmouth charging her with two counts of Illegal Possession of a Controlled Drug – one being heroin and one being prescription drugs. She was held on $2000 cash bail pending arraignment on April 9th at Hillsborough District Court. She was released after posting the bail pending an April 30th probable cause hearing at Hillsborough District Court.
HARASSMENT: Police received a report from a Dodge Hill Road resident regarding receiving harassing phone calls. Investigation continues.
ANIMAL: Police received a complaint from a Durgin Road resident regarding her neighbor’s dog trespassing onto her property.
April 7th
DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Police responded to Cross Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. Investigation revealed that a boyfriend and girlfriend got in an argument. Charges are pending; however, at this time the investigation continues.
ARREST: Police took a 16 year old female into Protective Custody for underage drinking. She was released to a parent.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of stray dogs on Francestown Road. The owner was notified.
April 10th
ANIMAL: Police received report of four stray dogs on Bible Hill Road. Police notified the owner and spoke to them about the dog control ordinance.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hancock Police with an arrest on State Route 202.
April 11th
CIVIL: Police were requested to retrieve a dog due to dispute over ownership. Both parties were referred to court.
DOMESTIC: Police responded to a domestic dispute incident on Old Hancock Road. It was determined to be verbal. The situation was calmed without further incident.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a stray dog on Francestown Road. The owner was notified.
April 12th
JUVENILE: Police received a report of a juvenile walking on Francestown Road. Investigation revealed an issue involving school being closed. Police watched the child until she was picked up.
INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident on Greenfield Road. Investigation revealed no damage to the vehicle. It was driven from the scene.
ANIMAL: Police received a report stating a North Bennington Road resident was leaving his dog outside in inclement weather. Police spoke to him and determined that there was no problem.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Greenfield Police with a motor vehicle accident at the Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hancock Police with a motor vehicle accident on State Route 202.
April 13 th
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police had a motorist come to the station and report that he was involved in a motor vehicle accident. Since the police did not respond to the accident the driver was provided an accident form to complete.
April 14th
ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop police arrested Sarah Voorhees, 21, of Peterborough on a bench warrant for failure to pay fines for Driving after Suspension. She settled the warrant by paying the required cash bail.
DOMESTIC: Police responded to a report of a domestic incident on Francestown Road. Investigation revealed that a mother and son got into a verbal argument and the son decided he wanted to walk home.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Fire Department at the scene of a chimney fire on Onset Road.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police Department with an arrest on State Route 202.
April 15th
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to a report of motor vehicle accident on Main Street. Investigation revealed that a vehicle, a 2003 Dodge, owned by Derek Davis, 36, of Bennington rolled from a driveway and struck a fence at the Historical Society. The vehicle received minor damage and the fence was damaged.
April 16th
ARREST: After responding to a water rescue with the fire department, police arrested Bryan Dillon, 20, of Greenfield charging him with Simple Assault. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a June 11th court date in Hillsborough District Court.
April 17th
CHECK THE WELFARE: Police were requested to check the welfare of a Durgin Road resident. After making the check the town provided the resident with food assistance.
BURGLARY: Police received a report of a burglary at a town business. Police have collected evidence; however, at this time the investigation continues.
April 18th
ARREST: Police arrested Dana Anderson, 29, of Bennington charging him with Prohibitive Sales – providing alcohol to a minor. He was released on $500 personal recognizance bail pending a June 11 th court date in Hillsborough District Court.
INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of shots fired on North Bennington Road. Police could not find the source of the shooting; however, no further issues were reported.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call at an Onset Road residence.
April 19th
E911: Police responded to an emergency 911 call at a local business. It was determined to have been accidental.
JUVENILE: Police received a report of a missing juvenile. Investigation revealed the child was at a residence in Antrim.
ALARM: Police received a report of an alarm at Pierce Elementary School. It was determined to have been accidental.
April 20th
ANIMAL: Police received a report of dogs running at large on South Bennington Road. Police spoke to the owner.
BURGLARY: Police began investigating a report of a burglary at a local business.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a stray dog on Francestown Road. It was gone by time police arrived.
April 22nd
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Main Street. Investigation revealed that two motorcycles were involved. One motorcycle, a 1987 Suzuki, driven by Jerome Messer, 37, of Jaffrey struck a motorcycle, a 1998 Honda, driven by David Dorr, 50, of Wilton. The motorcycles received minor damage. One passenger had to be transported to MCH with minor injuries.
PROTECTIVE CUSTODY: Police took a motorist into protective custody after it was discovered he had been drinking. It was decided it was not safe for him to drive.
DOMESTIC: Police responded to a domestic dispute incident on North Bennington Road. Investigation revealed a verbal argument between a father and daughter. The situation was calmed without further action being required.
April 23rd
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a sick looking beaver. By time police arrived it was gone.
THEFT: Police received a report of a theft of a sign from a Bible Hill Road residence. Investigation continues.
April 24th
ALARM: Police responded to a residential alarm on Greenfield Road. No problems were found.
April 25th
INVESTIGATE: Police received a report and documents involving a scam. It was determined to be an actual scam attempt. Certain agencies were notified and aware of the scam; however, we could not do much more than notify the agencies.
SUSPICIOUS PERSONS: Police received a report of suspicious persons and or activity at the town common. There was no problem.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Francestown Police Department with a motor vehicle accident on Bennington Road.
April 26th
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a stray dog on Greenfield Road. After investigation the owner received a summons for allowing the dog to run at large.
April 27th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Fire Department with a call for service involving a propane leak at Rymes Heating. It was determined to have been accidental with no hazard present.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a bear tearing up a yard. By time police arrived the bear was gone.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a dead deer on Francestown Road. Investigation revealed the deer appeared to have been struck by a vehicle; however, the vehicle departed. The deer was given away.
April 28th
CIVIL: Police were requested to do a civil standby at an Old Hancock Road residence while property was removed. The request was made due to tenants being evicted.
INVESTIGATION: Police received a report of persons trespassing onto private property at Whittemore Lake Road. Investigation revealed no problem. It was three fisherman making their way to the shoreline.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Francestown Police Department in looking for lost hikers. They were located and were doing fine.
April 29th
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a dog running at large on South Bennington Road. The dog could not be caught; however, police spoke to the owner.
ARREST: Police file a juvenile petition charging an individual with simple assault. The case will be heard in Hillsborough District Court.
ARREST: Police took Maurice Belmore into protective custody for public intoxication. He was transported to his parents’ residence in Greenfield.
April 30th
INVESTIGATION: Police responded to the Mountain Side Condos for a noise complaint. Police spoke to all parties. Everything got quiet. No further action was required.
HARASSMENT: Police received a report from an Onset Road resident regarding harassment by a neighbor. Both neighbors filed complaints against each other. Police advised each to calm down. Police departed the incident without any further reports being made.
TRESPASS: Police received a report from a North Bennington Road resident regarding a trespassing issue. The incident was due to a man not liking his ex-girlfriend being at the property. He was warned against trespassing and being disorderly. No further complaints to date.
ARREST: Police arrested David White of Bennington on a bench warrant for failure to pay fines. He was bailed out on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a June 11th court date in Hillsborough District Court.
