Recent Calls - Bennington Police Log

JUNE 2009

POLICE HANDLED THE FOLLOWING CALLS FOR SERVICE:

June 3rd

ANIMAL: Police began investigating an Animal Cruelty case involving the dismemberment of a cat.

E911: Police investigated a report of an Emergency 911 call from a business. It was determined to have been accidental.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Durgin Road.


June 4th

JUVENILE: Police received a report of a juvenile walking on State Route 202. The juvenile should have been home. His mother was contacted. The juvenile was released to his mother without further action being necessary.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street. Investigation revealed that Chelsea Bunton, 22, of Maine was making a left turn when her vehicle was struck by an oncoming motorcycle being driven by Robert Fish, 54, of Bennington. Fish was transported to the hospital. Both vehicles sustained damage.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of bears on someone’s property. The bears were gone on arrival.

BURGLARY: Police began investigating a burglary at a local business. Investigation continues.


June 6th

JUVENILE: Police received a report of a 2 year old who was locked in his residence. Entry was made and the child was doing fine.


June 7th

ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop police arrested Randy Hough, 36, of MA charging him with Driving after Revocation. He was released on a summons pending a July 9th court date in Henniker District Court.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a stray dog on Gillis Hill Road. The dog was picked up and taken to an animal shelter.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a Driving While Intoxicated arrest.


June 8th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a motor vehicle accident on State Route 202.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with an arrest involving a person attempting to hide a vehicle.


June 9th

CRIMINAL THREATENING: Police received a report of a juvenile being threatened by another juvenile. The threats were made via telephone calls. Investigation continues.

INVESTIGATION: Police received a report regarding a Bible Hill Road resident shooting in a compact area. Investigation continues.

ARREST: Police arrested Brian O’Clair, 17, of Bennington charging him with negligent driving. He was released on a summons pending a July 9th court date in Henniker District Court.

CITIZEN ASSIST: Police assisted a motorist in getting her vehicle started.

CIVIL: Police assisted an individual in getting personal property from residence.


June 10th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Main Street

JUVENILE: Police took a report involving two juveniles threatening each other.

JUVENILE: Police received a report from a parent involving inappropriate “instant messaging” conversation.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report involving a neighbor shooting in a compact area. Investigation continues.

ARREST: After investigating an accident police arrested the driver charging him with Negligent Driving.


June 11th

ARREST: Police arrested Ashley Bradford, 18, of Dublin charging her with Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and Open Container Violation. She was released on $500 personal recognizance bail pending an August 13th court date in Henniker District Court.


June 12th

ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop police arrested Wade Labossierre, 30, of Antrim charging him with being an Habitual Offender. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a July 9th court date in Henniker District Court.

ANIMAL: Police picked up a stray dog on Francestown Road and took him to the animal shelter.


June 13th

ARREST: Police arrested Theodore Dalton, 28, of Hancock on a bench warrant for failure to pay fines. He was transported to Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending a court hearing on June 15th.

ANIMAL: Police received a report from an Old Greenfield Road resident regarding a neighbor’s dog attaching her dog. Investigation continues.


June 15th

INVESTIGATION: At 9:00 a.m. police began investigating a report involving Conduct After an Accident. The investigation revealed that someone ran over some mailboxes on State Route 202. Investigation continues.


June 16th

ARREST: Police arrested Travis Sanborn, 27, of Bennington charging him with Burglary and Receiving Stolen Property. He was transported to Henniker District Court where he was released on $5000 personal recognizance bail pending a July 9th Probable Cause Hearing at Henniker District Court. Part of his bail conditions also included not returning to his residence. He violated that condition at approximately 3:50 p.m. and was again arrested. This time he was charged with Breach of Bail Conditions. He was transported to Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending a court hearing.


June 17th

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to Main Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Investigation revealed that Kevin Rutledge, 48, of Greenfield was driving a 1998 Chrysler. He stopped for a pedestrian when his vehicle was struck by Angela Lunderville, 18, of Hillsborough. She was driving a 1998 Mitsubishi. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. One driver reported minor injuries; however, refused transport to the hospital.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Greenfield Road.


June 18th

HARASSMENT: Police took a report of harassment involving unwanted and threatening text messages. Both parties were warned about sending harassing text messages.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of the odor of gas on Main Street. No problems were found.


June 19th

UNWANTED MAIL: Police received a report from a local business regarding receiving unwanted mail. This is an ongoing issue and police are familiar with the person sending the mail. Investigation continues.

SUMMONS ARREST: After stopping a motor vehicle police issued a summons to Phillis Adams, 47, of Hillsborough. The summons was for driving without a valid New Hampshire driver’s license. She was scheduled to appear in Henniker District Court on August 13th.

E911: Police responded to a local business for an Emergency 911 call. It was determined to have been accidental.


June 20th

ARREST: Police arrested Sean LaChance, 19, of Antrim on a Fish and Game warrant. He was released on $500 personal recognizance bail pending a July 9th court date in Henniker District Court.

ANIMAL: Police took a report of two dogs killing a rabbit. Investigation continues.

ARREST: Police arrested Kayla Cabana, 21, of Peterborough charging her with Conduct After an Accident. The incident involved an accident in which mailboxes and lawn were damaged. She was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an August 13th court date in Henniker District Court.

ARREST: Police arrested Paul Kenney, 19, of Hillsborough charging him with Illegal Possession of Alcohol. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an August 13th court date in Henniker District Court.


June 21st

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to Antrim Road for a report of a three vehicle accident. Investigation revealed the first and second vehicle stopped for oncoming traffic. The third vehicle did not stop – striking the second vehicle. The second vehicle in turn struck the first vehicle. All vehicles sustained minor damage. Two drivers sustained minor injuries.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Greenfield Police with a call for service involving a man with a gun.


June 22nd

CIVIL STANDBY: Police conducted two civil standbys while personal belongings were collected for and to keep the peace for the second.


June 23rd

MISSING JUVENILE: Police received a call for a missing juvenile. The juvenile ended up coming home. He decided to visit a friend without permission.


June 24th

JUVENILE: Police assisted in calming down a juvenile at the school who was out of control.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Fire Department with a call for service involving the odor of gas at a South Bennington Road residence.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of concern of care for horses at a North Bennington Road residence. The horses were checked by the State Vet. No serious issues were found.

THEFT: Police took a report of theft involving the taking of a town plant from a bridge.


June 26th

ARREST/DOMESTIC: Police responded to a domestic on Francestown Road. Two parties were arrested. One for Simple Assault and one for False Imprisonment. Both were released on personal recognizance bail pending court.

CIVIL STANDBY: Police did a civil standby on Francestown Road while personal belongings were picked up.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a stray dog on Main Street chasing people. The owner was spoken to.

ANIMAL: Police responded to Knightland Road and State Route 202 for a neighbor dispute over a dog running at large.


June 27th

PROTECTIVE CUSTODY: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a domestic disturbance call on Concord Street. Police ended up taking one person into protective custody for intoxication.


June 27th

ARREST: Police arrested David Pedreira charging him with Violation of Bail Conditions. He was transported to the county jail pending a court hearing.

ANIMAL: Police picked up two stray dogs on North Bennington Road and returned them to their owner.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Francestown Police Department in doing a property check after a door was found open.


June 28th

E911: Police responded to an Emergency 911 call on Main Street. It was found to have been accidental.


June 29th

ALCOHOL VIOLATION: Police received a report of two individuals drinking while fishing. Investigation resulted in two summonses for violation of town ordinance and one summons for fishing without a license. Both individuals were released pending a court date.

E911: Police responded to a local business for an Emergency 911 call. It was determined to have been accidental.

DOMESTIC INCIDENT: Police responded to Onset Road for a motor vehicle complaint. Investigation revealed a domestic incident between father and son. Both were warned and released. No further action was necessary.

CIVIL: Police were requested to check the welfare of a Francestown Road resident. She was upset; however, found to being doing fine.


June 30th

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Received a report from a South Bennington Road residence stating he had a truck cap damaged.

HARRASSMENT: Police took a report from a Greenfield Road resident who filed a complaint of unwanted and harassing phone calls from an ex-girlfriend.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police responded to North Bennington Road for a motor vehicle accident. Investigation revealed a vehicle missed a turn and ran off the road. The cause was due to weather.
