Recent Calls - Bennington Police Log

July 1st

LOUD NOISE: Police received a report of loud noise on Old Stagecoach Road. The source of the noise could not be located.

ARREST: After a motor vehicle stop police arrested Michael Arsenault Jr., 20, of Bennington for Driving after Suspension. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an August 13th court date in Hillsborough District Court.


July 2nd

ARREST: Police arrested Gordon Jennison, 51, of Stoddard for Issuing a Bad Check to a local business. He was released on $500 personal recognizance bail pending an August 13th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

INVESTIGATION: Police received a report of road rage on State Route 202. The drivers of both vehicles were spoken to about the report. The situation was cleared without further action being necessary.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Police took a report of damage done to a corn field on State Route 202.


July 3rd

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted Department of Children, Youth and Family in taking custody of a child on North Bennington Road.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a dog running at large on Greenfield Road. Police spoke to the owner.


July 4th

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Police received a report from a Merrill Drive residence regarding driveway posts being removed from his driveway. Investigation continues.

CIVIL: Police mediated a dispute between husband and wife. This is an ongoing problem; however, after speaking to the parties no further action was necessary.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a domestic disturbance on Goodell Road.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Greenfield Police in looking for lost hikers on Crotched Mountain.


July 5th

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Police took a report from a Paradise Drive resident regarding damage to his yard. It appears that someone drove a vehicle in his yard causing the damage. Investigation continues.

ASSIST AGENCY: Police assisted the Division of Children, Youth and Family in removing a juvenile from his residence.

DRIVE OFF: Police received a report of a motorist driving off without paying for gas from Harris’ Mini Mart. Investigation revealed it was an accident. The motorist returned and paid for the gas without further issue.

ARRESTS: Police arrested Kurtis Bourdin, 18, of Antrim and Timothy Farres, 17, of Francestown charging them with burglary of the Highland Inn. Both individuals were released on $500 personal recognizance bail pending an August 13th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a disturbance at Redneck’s bar.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on South Bennington Road.


July 6th

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a stray dog running at large on private property on Greenfield Road. Police spoke to the owner.


July 7th

THEFT: Police took a report of theft from a Merrill Road resident. The theft involved the taking of a mailbox. Investigation continues.

ARREST: Police arrested Christine Pierson, 36, of Bennington charging her with Issuing a Bad Check. She was released on $500 personal recognizance bail pending an August 13th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

ARREST: Police arrested Michelle Flagg, 27, of Francestown charging her with Issuing a Bad Check. She was released on $500 personal recognizance bail pending an August 13th court date in Hillsborough District Court.


July 9th

ARREST: Police arrested Dana Anderson, 30, of Weare charging him with Issuing a Bad Check. He was released on $500 personal recognizance bail pending an August 13th court date in Hillsborough District Court.


July 10th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the State Police with a residential alarm in Francestown.

July 11th

INVESTIGATE: Police took a report of suspicious activity involving a man speaking to some children.

TRESPASSING: Police investigated a possible trespassing issue at a State Route 202 residence.


July 12th

CIVIL: Police mediated a dispute between family members at an Acre Street residence.

BAD CHECK: Police received a bad check from a local business. The check was passed by a Francestown Road resident.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Greenfield Police with a domestic dispute on Muzzey Hill Road.

TRESPASSING: Police investigated a report of vehicles trespassing onto the Crotched Mountain Ski slopes. The vehicles were gone when police arrived.


July 13th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hancock Police with a motor vehicle stop on State Route 137.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Francestown Police with a domestic disturbance on East Road.


July 14th

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of shots fired on Pine Meadows Circle. Investigation revealed a resident was target practicing.

HARASSMENT: Police received a report from a North Bennington Road resident regarding being harassed by his brother.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of possible child abuse at an Acre Street residence. DCYF was notified.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Eaton Avenue.


July 16th

ANIMAL: Police received a report from a State Route 202 resident regarding her neighbor’s dog constantly barking. Police spoke to the dog owner.


July 17th

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of a suspicious person on Switzer Road. Police did not locate anyone.

CIVIL: Police received a report from a North Bennington Road resident involving a property dispute between family members.

CIVIL: Police received a report regarding possible problems between parents at a North Bennington Road residence. Police did not find any problems.

CIVIL: Police received a report involving marital issues from South Bennington Road residents.


July 18th

ARREST: Police arrested two juveniles charging them with burglary. The cases will be heard in juvenile court at Hillsborough District Court.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hancock Police with a domestic incident on Kimball Road.


July 19th

ARREST: Police arrested Shawn Lagasse, 21, of Bennington charging him with Driving after Suspension. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an August 13th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle at Rymes Heating. It was discovered that the owner was just parking his vehicle while he went someplace else. He was warned against leaving his vehicle on private property.


July 21st

ARREST: Police arrested Scott Champagne, 36, of Bennington charging him with Driving after Suspension. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an August 13th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop for speed police arrested Sierra Simmons, 18, of Greenfield charging her with Illegal Possession of a Controlled Drug believed to be marijuana. She was also held on protective custody due to driving while impaired. She was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an August 13th court date. A 16-year old female passenger was taken into protective custody and released to a parent.

ARREST: Police arrested two juveniles for burglary of a business. Their case will be heard in juvenile court.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with an intoxicated person.

DOMESTIC: Police responded to Paradise Drive for a report of a domestic disturbance. Police determined it was verbal and alcohol was involved. They cleared without further action.

PROTECTIVE CUSTODY: Police took two juveniles into Protective Custody for intoxication.


July 22nd

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of an Off Road Vehicle traveling on the roadway on North Bennington Road. Police did not find the vehicle.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of an intoxicated subject walking in the roadway on Francestown Road. Police did not find anyone.


July 23rd

JUVENILE: Police assisted a mother on South Bennington Road because her son would not listen to her.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Francestown Road.


July 24th

VEHICLE THEFTS: Police began investigating the theft of two vehicles from a Greenfield Road residence. Investigation continues.

ARREST: Police arrested William Pinkham, 28, of Bennington charging him with Violation of a Protective Order. He was held without bail pending an arraignment in Hillsborough District Court on July 25th.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of an injured deer on North Bennington Road. They did not find the animal.


July 25th

E911: Police received a report of an Emergency 911 call from a Pine Meadows Circle residence. Investigation revealed that young children were playing with the phone.

INVESTIGATION: Police began investigating a report of Prohibitive Sales – providing alcohol to a minor.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Police took a report of criminal mischief involving breaking of a cabinet door.

CIVIL: Police received a report involving child custody issues between an ex-husband and wife.


July 26th

ARREST: Police arrested Michael Deschenes, of Bennington charging him with Harassment. He was released on $1000 PR bail pending a September 3rd court date in Hillsborough District Court.


July 27th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a suspicious activity call for service on Matthewson Road. Investigation revealed an unwanted person; however, he was gone upon arrival of the police.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Fire Department with a call for service at the Monadnock Paper Mill. The call was the result of a flooded building.


July 28th

ARREST: Police arrested Christopher Brissette of Bennington charging him with Breach of Bail. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a September 3rd court date in Hillsborough District Court.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of two suspicious vehicles at the town beach. Investigation revealed it was only some late night swimmers.

ARREST: Police took two people into protective custody for intoxication. They were Jason Jackson and Samuel Callender. They were released to a parent.


July 29th

INVESTIGATION: Police received a report from a Knightland Road resident regarding a criminal mischief and criminal trespassing issue. The trespassing issue was because someone came onto private property and the mischief issue was due to damage to a vehicle. Investigation continues.


July 30th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on North Bennington Road.


July 31st

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of a truck loosing trash on State Route 202. The area was checked but no trash found.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of a disturbance at the town beach. The disturbance was due to someone bringing their dog onto the swimming portion of the beach.

CIVIL: Police received a report from a landlord regarding a tenant having someone living with her who was not on the lease. I determined it to be a civil matter.

THEFT: Police began investigating a report of a theft of a truck. Police have identified all involved parties; however, determining the ownership of the vehicle is still under investigation.
