JULY 2009
POLICE HANDLED THE FOLLOWING CALLS FOR SERVICE:
July 1st
E911: Police responded to an Emergency 911 call at the Paper Mill. No problems were found.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Police responded to the Mountain Side Condos for a report of criminal mischief. The report involved damaged done to a residence by a family member.
ALARM: Police responded to an alarm at a town business. It was accidental.
July 2nd
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Police responded to a Greenfield Road residence for a report of damage being done to a vehicle.
E911: Police responded to a Main Street residence for an Emergency 911 call. It was determined to have been a child playing with the phone.
ARREST: Police arrested David Mackey for Driving While Intoxicated and Open Container violation.
DOMESTIC: Police responded to a Bible Hill Road residence for a report of a domestic disturbance.
ARREST: Police arrested Carol Deyo charging her with Simple Assault.
ARREST: Police arrested David Pedreira charging him with Unsworn Falsification.
July 3rd
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a sick looking fox on Francestown Road. It was gone by time police arrived.
CIVIL: Police did a civil standby at a Francestown Road residence while personal belongings were picked up.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with an underage party.
NOISE: Police received a report of noise from the Curtis Homestead. It was determined to have been fireworks.
NOISE: Police received a report of noise from a South Bennington Road location. It was found to be fireworks.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police in looking for a person who ran from them.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a civil standby.
July 4th
CIVIL: Police mediated a dispute involving custody/visitation issues.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a dog constantly barking. The dog was found on Bible Hill Road. The owner was spoken to.
July 5th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hillsborough with an Assault incident.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Fire Department with an illegal burn incident on North Bennington Road.
DRUGS: Police had some illegal drugs turned over by a parent who found the drugs in a child’s room. Investigation continues.
July 6th
BAD CHECK: Police received a report of a bad check being passed at a town office. The check was cleared without further action being necessary.
ARREST: Police arrested Simon Norton charging him with Illegal Transportation of Alcohol.
PROTECTIVE CUSTODY: Police took Cody Delano into Protective Custody for alcohol. He was released to a parent.
July 8th
CRIMINAL THREATENING: Police took a report from a Greenfield Road resident reporting that she was threatened.
CHECK WELFARE: Police were requested to check the welfare of an Acre Street resident. The individual was found to be doing fine.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a sick looking skunk on North Bennington Road. The skunk could not be caught.
ARREST: Police arrested David Pedreira charging him with Driving after Suspension and Violation of Bail Conditions.
July 9th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on State Route 202.
July 10th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call at a South Bennington Road residence.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a sick fox on Rogers Road. It was gone by time police arrived.
July 11th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a domestic disturbance call for service
July 12th
ANIMAL: Police received a report of two stray dogs on State Route 202. The dogs were gone by time police arrived.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on North Bennington Road.
THEFT: Police took a report regarding a theft of a canoe from Onset Road.
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hancock Police with a domestic incident on Old Hancock Road.
July 13th
THEFT: Police received a report of a motor vehicle theft from Dodge Hill Road. The vehicle was located; however, investigation continues in looking for the operator.
CIVIL: Police mediated a dispute involving child visitation issues.
HARASSMENT/THREATS: Police took a report from an Old Greenfield Road resident reporting that she is being harassed and threatened. Investigation continues.
STALKING: Police received a report involving stalking by two individuals.
CIVIL: Police received a complaint involving ex-boyfriend and ex-girlfriend accusing each other of wrongdoing. This is an ongoing issue.
CRIMINAL THREATENING: Police took a report of Criminal Threatening involving a person threatening to blow up the vehicle of another.
July 14th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Bible Hill Road.
INVESTIGATE: Police began investigating reports of underage partying at a Francestown Road residence.
July 15th
ANIMAL: Police received a report of stray dogs at the Ski Area. They were gone by time police arrived.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a dog struck by a vehicle on Francestown Road.
CIVIL: Police received a report involving a neighbor dispute over noise.
ARREST: Police arrested Caleb Koivula, 20, of Bennington charging him with Altering a License Plate.
ACCIDENT: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on State Route 202. Investigation revealed the accident was caused by a medical issue.
July 16th
THEFT: Police took a report of a theft of a snowboard.
ARREST: Police arrested Gary Chase, 37, of Antrim charging him with Criminal Threatening.
ARREST: Police arrested Kathye King, 45, of Bennington charging her with Violating Bail Conditions.
July 17th
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a dog being struck by a vehicle on Francestown Road. Police did not find anything.
July 18th
911: Police received an Emergency 911 call from an Acre Street residence. Investigation revealed some intoxicated people got into a fight; however, one person left and one person was uncooperative.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a dog constantly barking at a Francestown Road residence. Investigation revealed the dog was tangled up.
July 19th
ARREST: After responding to a domestic dispute on Francestown Road police arrested Amanda Koziell of Bennington charging her with Criminal Threatening.
CIVIL: Police intervened in a dispute between two people. The dispute was over property.
July 21st
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department with a property eviction .
ANIMAL: Police investigated a report of a dog owner not cleaning up after its dog.
July 22nd
CIVIL: Police did a civil standby at the Southface Condos while personal belongings were picked up.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Police began investigating a report of disorderly conduct at the town beach.
UNSECURE PROPERTY: Police were requested to do a property check on State Route 202 after a door was found opened.
PROTECTIVE CUSTODY: After a motor vehicle stop police took Paul Spera, 41, of Jaffrey into Protective Custody for intoxication.
July 23rd
CIVIL: Police conducted a civil standby at a Francestown Road residence while personal belongings were picked up.
NOISE: Police responded to North Bennington Road for a noise complaint. Police spoke to the property owner who turned the music down. There were no further issues.
July 24th
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a rabid raccoon being shot at a Francestown Road business. The animal was disposed of.
SEXUAL ASSAULT: Police received a report regarding a concern of possible sexual assault. Investigation continues.
ARRESTS: Police charged two juveniles with Criminal Threatening and Simple Assault. The cases will be heard in juvenile court.
July 25th
ALARM: Police responded to an alarm at the Town Office. It was accidental.
July 26th
ARREST: Police received word that Peterborough arrested Allyssa Flagg, 24, of Peterborough on a Bennington Warrant. She was turned over to the Bennington Police where she was booked and released.
DOMESTIC/PROTECTIVE CUSTODY: Police received a report of a domestic disturbance on Antrim Road. Investigation revealed a verbal dispute. After refusing to accept a ride Timothy Gregson, 37, of Greenfield was taken into Protective Custody for public intoxication and safety concerns. He was provided a ride home by the police.
ARRESTS: After making a motor vehicle stop police arrested Justin Walker, 20, of Francestown charging him with Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, Illegal Possession of a Controlled Drug and Possession of Drugs in a motor vehicle. He was booked and released pending court.
ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop police arrested Aben Whiteley, 22, of Antrim charging him with Illegal Possession of Alcohol (Open Container). He was released pending court.
DOMESTIC: Police received a report of a possible domestic disturbance on State Route 202. Police were able to locate the vehicles and talk to the operators. It was determined to have been verbal. The situation was calmed down without further action being necessary.
July 27th
SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Police received a report of a person “acting crazy” on State Route 202. Police did not find anyone.
THEFT: Police received a report involving theft of gasoline from two trucks on Antrim Road. Investigation continues.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of three raccoons in a dumpster on Dodge Hill Road. They apparently found a way out because they were gone by time police arrived.
CIVIL: Police were requested to do a civil standby at a Francestown Road residence while personal belongings were picked up.
July 28th
INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of a suspicious phone call from an Onset Road residence.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of dogs constantly barking. The Onset Road owner was spoken to.
July 29th
ALARM: Police responded to an alarm at the Elementary School. It is believed to have been accidental – weather related.
INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of an unwanted phone call at a Pierce Hill Road resident. Investigation continues due to this being an ongoing harassment issue.
July 30th
MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police in serving paperwork.
JUVENILE: Police received a report/concern from a mother regarding her son and drugs.
July 31st
CIVIL: Police took a report of a civil issue involving marital issues.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a stray dog running on State Route 202. Investigation revealed the leash was broken; however, no one was home.
ANIMAL: Police received a report of a lost dog from Birch Glen Drive.
INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of a possible rolling domestic. Police spoke to subject and found it to be between ex-boyfriend and ex-girlfriend. It involved harassment and threatening. Police spoke to both parties and only action taken was to serve an Emergency Domestic Violence Order.
