Recent Calls - Bennington Police Log

August 1st

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Fire Department with a brush fire on Onset Road.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police Department in the arrests of three juveniles.


August 2nd

ARREST: Police arrested three people for intoxication. All subjects were taken into custody and turned over to Antrim Police.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hancock Police with a motor vehicle accident on High Street.


August 4th

NOISE: At 11:00 p.m. police received a complaint of loud noise coming from the Curtis Campground. Investigation revealed a family reunion. Police did speak to some people and they agreed to quiet down. There were no further issues.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a run-a-way juvenile.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police investigated a motor vehicle accident on Pierce Hill Road. The operator was not with the vehicle. Investigation continues.


August 5th

ARREST: At 3:50 p.m. police arrested Tammy Comeau, 35, of Bennington charging her with Issuing a Bad Check to Harris’ Mini Mart. She was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a September 10th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

ARREST: Police arrested Christopher Eaves of Bennington charging him with Illegal Possession of a Controlled Drug. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a September 10 th court date in Hillsborough District Court.


August 6th

ARREST: At 8:10 p.m. police arrested Lauren Chicoine, 22, of Bennington charging her with Prohibitive Sales. She was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a September 10th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Greenfield Police in looking for a suspicious person.


August 7th

ARREST: At 8:00 p.m. police arrested Niles LaPlante, 43, of Bennington charging him with Reckless Operation. He was released on a summons to appear in Hillsborough District Court on September 10th.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Police began investigating a report of Criminal Mischief at St Patrick’s Church. The mischief was the result of damage being done to a statue.


August 8th

ARREST: At 10:10 a.m. police arrested Robert Flagg III, 25, of Greenfield on two outstanding warrants. One was a civil warrant from Hillsborough Superior Court and one was for Failure to Appear in Hillsborough District Court. He was arraigned in Hillsborough District Court where he was a released on personal recognizance bail.

ARREST: At 12:30 p.m. police arrested Jason King, 35, of Bennington for Driving After Suspension. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a September 10th court date in Hillsborough District Court.


August 9th

ARREST: At 11:00 a.m. police arrested Christina Emond, 20, of Antrim charging her with Driving After Suspension. She was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a September 10th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: At 11:50 p.m. police responded to a domestic violence incident on North Bennington Road. Investigation revealed the incident was verbal. After calming the situation police cleared without further incident.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a fight at the Redneck’s Bar.


August 10th

ARREST: At 2:10 p.m. police arrested William Kimball, 35, of Bennington on a warrant from Antrim Police Department for Simple Assault. He was transported to Antrim and turned over to the Antrim Police.


August 11th

ARREST: At 1:15 a.m. police arrested Michelle Flagg, 27, of Francestown charging her with Driving While Intoxicated and Illegal Possession of a Controlled Drug. She was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a September 10th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

ARREST: At 1:20 a.m. police arrested Brett Flagg, 18, of Francestown charging him with Illegal Possession of Alcohol. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a September 10th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

E911: Police responded to an Emergency 911 call on Main Street. There was no one around the phone; however, police believe juveniles were playing with the pay phone.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Fire Department with a call on Bible Hill Road regarding a man falling off a ladder.


August 12th

ANIMAL: Police spoke to the owners of a dog due to reports the dog is constantly barking.


August 13th

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Police received from a resident stating that while is truck was parked on Main Street he had two tires punctured. Investigation continues.

ANIMAL: Police picked up a stray dog on Main Street and took it to Spring Meadows dog farm.

ARREST: While in court police arrested three people who showed up and had warrants for their arrest. They were Michael, Ashley and Maurisa Flagg. One was released to another agency. One paid cash bail and one was transported to Valley Street Jail.

ANIMAL: Police received a report from a Dodge Hill Road resident regarding her neighbor’s dog chasing her. Police spoke to the owner.


August 14th

DAMAGE: Police took a report of minor damage done to Newhall Field. Investigation revealed some construction workers spilled a small amount of diesel fuel and also caused some minor ruts by a ball field. The damage was cleaned up and fixed.

CIVIL: Police intervened in a dispute over right of way issues on Onset Road. Both sides came to a temporary solution; however, they were advised that a long term solution might be decided in court.

E911: Police located and spoke to a juvenile and parent after responding to two Emergency 911 calls made from a pay phone on Main Street. The phone calls were only made because the juvenile was playing with the phone.

ARREST: Police arrested Brett Flagg on a warrant from Antrim Police. He was turned over to the Antrim Police for further processing.


August 15th

ARREST: Police arrested Jamie Hafford, 21, of Hillsborough charging her with Illegal Possession of Alcohol. Based on other evidence located she could be receiving further charges involving drugs. She was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a September 10th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident on State Route 202. Since it was reported to be minor damage and occurred in the past the driver was provided an accident report.


August 16th

THEFT : Police took a report of a purse which appears to have been stolen from the Crotched Mountain Ski Area. Investigation continues.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a stray dog at the Southface Condos. Police were not able to locate the dog.


August 17th

JUVENILE: Police received a report of juveniles in the area of the town gravel pit on North Bennington Road. Since there have been recent issues involving the construction equipment in the area the police investigated and took a report. This particular incident involved three juveniles who were riding their bicycles on the sand hills.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the State Police with a Domestic Disturbance call on North Main Street in Antrim.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a disorderly conduct incident on Main Street.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a stray dog on Bible Hill Road. Police spoke to the owner.


August 18th

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a stray dog on South Bennington Road. The owner was issued a summons.

ARREST: Police arrested Michelle Flagg of Francestown charging her with Operating on a Suspended Registration, Possession of a Controlled Drug and Breach of Bail. She was released on $2000 personal recognizance bail pending a September 10th court date in Hillsborough District Court.


August 19th

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a stray dog at St Patrick’s Church. The owner was contacted and issued a summons.


August 20th

CIVIL: Police mediated a dispute between husband and wife at a North Bennington Road residence.


August 21st

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: At 6:40 p.m. police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Paradise Drive. Investigation revealed Glen Reinhardt, 59, of Massachusetts was backing his vehicle, a 2007 Nissan Truck when he struck a basketball hoop/pole causing the hoop to fall onto a GMC truck parked in the driveway. There was minor damage to the poll and GMC truck.


August 22nd

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Greenfield Police with a dispute between a property owner and a logger.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hancock Police with a suspicious person on State Route 202.


August 23rd

ANIMAL: Police had a stray dog turned in to them at the police station. The owner was contacted. The dog was picked up.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a stray dog on Bible Hill Road. It was gone by time police arrived.


August 24th

ARREST: At 1:00 p.m. police filed a juvenile petition with the Hillsborough District Court charging a juvenile with burglary, criminal mischief and criminal trespassing. The case will be heard in juvenile court; however, no date has been scheduled yet.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call at a Sand & Gravel business on Francestown Road.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Francestown Police with a motor vehicle accident on Francestown Road.


August 25th

ARREST: At 1:30 a.m. police arrested Jessica Kavenagh, 30, of Bennington charging her with Driving While Intoxicated. She was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an October 8th court date in Hillsborough District Court.

CIVIL: Police mediated a dispute between a North Bennington Road couple. The dispute was over property ownership between an ex-boyfriend and ex-girlfriend.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Balch Farm Road.


August 27th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hancock Police with an arrest on State Route 137.

INVESTIGATION: Police received a report of an unwanted person at a South Bennington Road residence. The individual was advised to leave. He did leave without incident.


August 29th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Pine Meadows Circle.


August 30th

ARREST: At 09:30 a.m. police arrested Jaime Hafford, 21, of Hillsborough charging her with Illegal Possession of a Controlled Drug (Cocaine) and Illegal Possession of a Controlled Drug (Marijuana). She was released on $2500 personal recognizance bail pending an October 8th court date in Hillsborough District Court.


August 31st

LOUD NOISE: At 9:00 p.m. police responded to a residence on Main Street due to a report of loud music. Police spoke to the tenants. The music was turned down without further incident.
