AUGUST 2008

August 1st

ARREST:  Police took Chet LaValley, 40, of Manchester into Protective Custody for intoxication. He was given a ride to a friend on North Bennington Road.

ANIMAL: Police picked up a stray dog from the town beach and took it to Spring Meadows Farm.

CHECK WELFARE: Police were requested to check the welfare of a North Bennington Road resident. No problems were found.


August 2nd

ARREST:  Police arrested Laura Burgoyne, 41, of Antrim on a warrant from Henniker District Court. Because she could not post the cash bail she was transported to the Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending a court date.

ARREST:  Police took Richard Cody, 23, of Henniker into Protective Custody for intoxication. He was released to the custody of his father.

ARREST:  Police had a juvenile turn himself in on a warrant from Hillsborough. He was instructed to turn himself into the Hillsborough Police which he did.

ARREST:  Police arrested Carolyn Smart, 42, of West Townsend Massachusetts charging her with Simple Assault. She was released on $1000. personal recognizance bail pending a September 8th court date in Hillsborough District Court.


August 3rd

DISORDERLY CONDUCT:  Police responded to Harris’ Mini Mart for a Disorderly Conduct call for service. Investigation revealed a customer became upset and was acting up. She was advised to leave the store which she did without further incident.

CIVIL:  Police were requested to do a civil standby at a Paradise Drive residence while personal belongings were removed.


August 4th

BAD CHECK:  Police received a report from the Town Hall stating they received a bad check. Police notified the person passing the check and advised them to clear it up.

CIVIL STANDBY: Police were requested to do a civil standby at a North Bennington Road residence while personal belongings were collected.

TRESPASSING:  Police received a report of Criminal Trespassing at a Birch Road residence. Investigation

ALARM: Police responded to an alarm at a local inn. It was found to have been accidentally activated by workers.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of an explosion at the Birch Glen Condos. They responded with the fire department; however, were unable to find any problems.

ARRESTS: After a high speed pursuit police arrested four juveniles charging them with a number of motor vehicle complaints. They were scheduled for juvenile court.


August 5th

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle on Francestown Road. The vehicle was gone by time police arrived.


August 6th

INVESTIGATE: Police received a noise complaint from an Onset Road residence. Investigation revealed no issues with noise; however, one underage person was taken into Protective Custody for drinking.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Sheriff’s Department in serving an eviction notice and removing tenants from a residence.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police in looking for two missing juveniles from the girl’s shelter.

THEFT: Police took a report of a theft – a lawnmower – from a State Route 202 residence.


August 7th

THEFT: Police took a report of a theft involving a ring and a gun from a Birch Drive residence.


August 8th

HARASSMENT: Police took a report of harassment from an Antrim Road resident.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hillsborough Police with a motor vehicle accident on West Main Street.

CHECK WELFARE: Police were requested to check the welfare of a North Bennington Road resident.


August 9th

CIVIL: Police were requested to assist with a civil issue at a Main Street residence. The issue is over visitation issues.


August 10th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Sheriff’s Department, in Antrim, on Clinton Road with a disorderly conduct call for service.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Sheriff’s Department, in Antrim, on Grove Street with a suspicious person call for service.


August 12th

CIVIL: Police mediated a dispute between two individuals on State Route 202. The dispute was over property.


August 13th

ARREST: Police arrested Brittney Johnson of Antrim on a warrant for Failure to Appear in Court to answer charges of Driving after Suspension. She posted $200. cash bail with another court date.


August 14th

ALARM: Police responded to an alarm at a residence on Pinehurst Drive. No problems were found.

ANIMAL: Police rescued, with the assist of motorists, a very large snapping turtle from State Route 202.

ILLEGAL DUMPING: Police took a report of Illegal Dumping at the Birch of Bennington Condos. The dumping was the result of a non-resident using the dumpsters intended for residents only.


August 15th

CHECK WELFARE: Police were requested to check the welfare of a North Bennington Road resident.

ARREST: After a motor vehicle stop police arrested Edward Bean, 57, of Sidney Maine charging him with Driving after Suspension. He was released on personal recognizance bail pending a court date.

ARREST: After a high speed pursuit police arrested William Schaefer of Antrim charging him with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Disobeying an officer and having a concealed weapon without a license. He was transported to County House of Corrections pending a court date.


August 16th

DRIVE-OFF: Police received a report of a motorist driving off from a local service station without paying for gas. Investigation revealed it was accidental.


August 17th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a call for service involving a person falling off a horse.

CIVIL: Police mediated a dispute between two individuals involving custody issues.


August 19th

ARREST:  Police arrested Shannon Sudsbury, 29, of Peterborough charging her with Driving After Suspension. She was released on a summons pending a November 10th court date in Henniker District Court, Hillsborough Session.


August 21st

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: Police checked a residence on State Route 202 for a report of suspicious activity. No issues were found.

ARREST: Police arrested Ryan Parent, 17, of Deering charging him with violation of bail conditions. He was released on a summons pending a court date.


August 22 nd

ARREST:  Police arrested Rachael Plamondon, 28, of Bennington charging her with Driving After Suspension. She was released on $1000. personal recognizance bail pending an October 13th court date in Henniker District Court, Hillsborough Session.

E911: Police responded to a report of an Emergency 911 call at a Bible Hill Road resident. No problems were found.

CIVIL STANDBY: Police were requested to do a civil standby at a Bible Hill Road residence.

HARASSMENT: Police took a report of telephone harassment from a Francestown Road resident.

NOISE COMPLAINT: Police responded to a report of a noise complaint at a Starrett Road resident. Investigation revealed kids playing in the yard; however, there were no problems with excessive noise.

ARREST: Police arrested Rachel Plamondon of Bennington charging her with Driving after Suspension. She was released on personal recognizance bail pending a court date.


August 23rd

ARREST:  Police arrested Carlos Gonzales, 29,of Lansing Michigan charging him with Driving After Suspension. He was released on a summons pending an October 13th court date in Henniker District Court, Hillsborough Session.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a call for service involving a suspicious vehicle.

JUVENILE: Police received a report of two missing juveniles – late getting home. They returned home.

ARREST: Police took a North Bennington Road resident into Protective Custody for public intoxication.


August 24th

ARREST:  Police arrested Pamela Pritchard, 45, of Francestown charging her with theft. She was released on $1000. personal recognizance bail pending an October 13th court date in Henniker District Court, Hillsborough Session.

ANIMAL: Police picked up a stray dog on Francestown Road and took it to Spring Meadows Farm.


August 25th

INVESTIGATE: Police started receiving complaints regarding an inappropriate sign at the end of a driveway on North Bennington Road.


August 26th

DOMESTIC: Police received a report of a past domestic incident. Report was taken; however, investigation continues.

CIVIL: Police mediated a dispute between a couple at Birches of Bennington condos. This is an ongoing issue between husband and wife.


August 27th

ALARM: Police responded to an alarm at a local office. It was found to have been accidental.


August 28th

HARASSMENT: Police received a report regarding a Durgin Road neighbor harassing another neighbor. Police spoke to all parties. No further reports made.

DOMESTIC: Police took a report of a past domestic disturbance. Investigation continues.

ANIMAL: Police took a report from a home owner on Antrim Road regarding her tenants dog constantly barking.


August 29th

CHECK WELFARE: Police were requested to the check the welfare of a Main Street resident. She was found to be doing fine.

ASSIST: Police received a report of a rock spill on Francestown Road. Police responded to the scene and found that the truck driver, along with a lot of assistance, cleaned up the rocks.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of smoke coming from the Main Street area. No source or problems were found.


August 30th

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report from a local business regarding a drive-off without paying for gas. It was found to have been accidental.

ARREST: Police arrested Joe Stanley, 25, of Bennington charging him with Illegal Possession of a Controlled Drug, believed to be marijuana. He was released on $2500. personal recognizance bail pending an October 20th court date in Henniker District Court, Hillsborough Session.


August 31st
