AUGUST 2009

POLICE HANDLED THE FOLLOWING CALLS FOR SERVICE:


August 1st

NOISE: Police received a complaint of loud noise from Curtis Campground. It was investigated and the music turned down.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Police received a report of vandalism to vehicles at an Antrim Road residence.

ARREST: Police took a subject into Protective Custody for public intoxication. It was a safety concern due to him walking in the roadway.


August 2nd

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a combative person.


August 3rd

CRIMINAL TRESPASS: Police investigated a report of a juvenile trespassing at the town beach. He was advised to leave which he did without incident.


August 4th

CIVIL STANDBY: Police were requested to do a civil standby at the welfare office. No issues arose.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Hancock Police with an arrest involving an intoxicated subject.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a call for service reporting suspicious activity.


August 5th

SUMMONS: Police issued a summons to Sarah England-Church charging her with Negligent Driving. She was released on a summons pending a September 10th court date in Henniker District Court.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of suspicious people at a State Route 202 residence. No problems were found.

E911: Police responded to a State Route 202 residence for an Emergency 911 call. It was accidental.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Francestown Road.


August 6th

LOST HIKERS: Police along with four other agencies rescue 23 individuals from Crotched Mountain trail after becoming lost.

ASSAULT: Police received a report of an assault between two juveniles. Investigation continues.

CITIZEN ASSIST: Police assisted a resident who locked himself out of his house.

CHECK WELFARE: Police were requested to check the welfare of a juvenile. He was found to be doing fine.


August 7th

ARREST: Police arrested Robert Schwarz, 56, of Hancock charging him with 2 nd offense Driving While Intoxicated. He was released on $2500 personal recognizance bail pending a September 10th court date in Henniker District Court.

SUMMONS: Police charged Mark Wilson, 19, of Hillsborough with Reckless Operation. He was released on a summons pending a September 10th court date in Henniker District Court.

ARREST: Police arrested David Bernier, 46, of Hillsborough charging him with Illegal Drugs in a motor vehicle, believed to be marijuana and cocaine; Illegal Possession of Controlled Drugs believed to be marijuana and cocaine and Driving While Intoxicated – 2 nd offense. He was released on $2500 personal recognizance bail pending an October 8th court date in Henniker District Court.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of someone cutting grass and throwing debris onto vehicles. There was no damage and the individual was advised to be careful.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a lost dog from a Francestown Road resident.

E911: Police responded to an emergency 911 call at a local business. No problems were found.


August 9th

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of suspicious vehicles on South Bennington Road. No problems were found.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Dodge Hill Road.


August 10th

SUMMONS: Police charged Adam Perry, 29, of Bennington with Driving without a valid New Hampshire license. He was released on a summons pending a September 10th court date in Henniker District Court.

CIVIL: Police assistance was requested in keeping people off of a vacant property.


August 11th

ANIMAL: Police received a report of dogs barking constantly from a Durgin Road residence. Police spoke to owner.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police in retrieving weapons.


August 12th

INVESTIGATE: While assisting medical personnel police discovered some illegal drugs in a residence. It is believed to be marijuana. Investigation continues.

ANIMAL: Police received a report from a Starrett Road resident stating she was missing a cat.

MOTOR VEHICLE: Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle on Balch Farm Road. The owner was contacted. The vehicle was removed.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on State Route 202.


August 14th

ARREST: Police arrested Travis Sanborn, 27, of Bennington charging him with Breach of Bail Conditions. He was held in Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending an arraignment at Henniker District Court on August 16th. During the arraignment he was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail.

NOISE: Police received a noise complaint from the Southface Condos. The individuals quieted down and departed the area. No further action was necessary.


August 15th

ARREST: Police again arrested Travis Sanborn, 27, of Bennington charging him with Breach of Bail Conditions. He was held in Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending a court hearing on 17th. The hearing resulted in Sanborn received a court order of $10,000 cash bail. He is currently being held in custody pending making bail or his current court date.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of an individual violating his bail conditions.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of individuals drinking in the ski area parking lot.


August 16th

CRIMINAL TRESPASSING: Police took a report of a property owner regarding trespassing onto private property – vacant property on Dodge Hill Road.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: Police received two reports of suspicious vehicles. One on South Bennington Road and one in a convenience store parking lot. No were no problems with either investigation.


August 17th

SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Police received a report of a suspicious person on Greenfield Road. Investigation showed the individual ran out of gas.

CHECK WELFARE: Police were requested to check the welfare of a child on Old Hancock Road. The child was found to be doing fine.

RECKLESS OPERATION: Police received a report of a reckless driving incident on Main Street. Investigation revealed that a motorist was: braking hard, spinning tires, doing doughnuts, not stopping at stop signs, speeding and driving on the lawn of the library. It was determined that the incident started out as a domestic incident. Investigation continues.

ANIMAL: Police received a call from a Francestown Road resident reporting animal issues with a neighbor.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Police received a report of a suspicious person on Greenfield Road. Investigation revealed someone ran out of gas and was knocking on doors looking for assistance.

CHECK WELFARE: Police were requested to check the welfare of a Durgin Road resident. She was found to be doing fine.

INVESTIGATE: Police received a report of a domestic disturbance and reckless driving incident on Main Street.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Police received a report of vandalism done to a ball field building.

CIVIL: Police assisted in the exchange of a child due to problems between ex-wife and ex-husband.


August 18th

ARREST: After investigating a domestic incident police arrested Jennifer Mosher, 42, of Bennington charging her with Simple Assault. She was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an October 10th court date.

ARREST: After investigating a parking issue at Harris’ Mini Mart police arrested Michael Lesage, 38, of Hooksett. He was charged with; Driving While Intoxicated, Illegal Possession of Alcohol, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and Illegal Drugs in a Motor Vehicle. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an October 10th court date in Henniker District Court.

CHECK WELFARE: Police were requested to check the welfare of a North Bennington Road resident. She was found to be doing fine.


August 19th

ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop police arrested Richard Snyder, 28, of Antrim charging him with Driving after Suspension. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an October 10th court date in Henniker District Court.

HARASSMENT: Police received a harassment complaint. The complaint was in regards to receiving numerous text messages.

ARREST: Police arrested Gabriel Goldstone, 18, of Peterborough charging him with Illegal Possession of Alcohol. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an October 10th court date in Henniker District Court.


August 20th

ARREST: Police arrested Francis Kelso, 50, of Bennington on a civil warrant. He was released pending a court hearing.

ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop police arrested Cobie Gregory, 41, of Florida for Driving after Suspension. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending a court date in Henniker District Court.

ARREST: After investigating a report of reckless driving police arrested Kevin Pendleton, 23, of Greenfield. He was charged with: Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief, Disorderly Conduct and Child Endangerment. He was released on $5,000 personal recognizance pending an October 10th court date in Henniker District Court.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a dog being left in a vehicle during hot conditions. The vehicle was gone by time police arrived.


August 21st

CIVIL: Police received a report of issues between an ex-wife and ex-husband regarding child issues


August 22nd

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a lost dog which was at a local vet clinic. The owner was located and advised.


August 23rd

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a lost dog from a Starrett Road resident.

CIVIL: Police received a report of an ex-husband not returning a son to his mother.


August 24th

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a dog running at large on Francestown Road. The dog was not located.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a motor vehicle accident.

CIVIL STANDBY: Police were requested to do a civil standby at a town office due to a customer being upset.

CRIMINAL THREATENING: Police investigated a criminal threatening complaint regarding a road rage incident.


August 25th

SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Police received a report of a suspicious person parking in an odd location. She stated she was looking at the stars; however, she departed the area.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Fire Department at the scene of a vehicle fire on South Bennington Road.

THEFT: Police took a report of shoplifting from a local convenience store.

JUVENILE: Police spoke to a parent regarding her juvenile son and his behavior.

ARREST: Police arrested Jeffrey Richardson of Bennington charging him with Criminal Threatening. He was released on personal recognizance bail pending a court hearing.


August 27th

ARRESTS: After making a motor vehicle stop police arrested Ashley Chamberlain, 22, of Bennington charging her with; Driving While Intoxicated, Possession of Controlled Drugs believed to be marijuana, Possession of Controlled Drugs in a motor vehicle and Open Container Violation. A passenger Rebekah Schweitzer, 20, of Bennington was charged with Illegal Possession of Alcohol and an Open Container Violation. Both were released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an October 8th court date in Henniker District Court. Another passenger was taken into Protective Custody.


August 28th

SUMMONS: After making a motor vehicle stop police issued a summons to Michael Powers, 27, of Pepperell Mass, for Driving without a Valid License. He was released on a summons pending an October 8th court date in Henniker District Court.


August 29th

ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop police arrested Brett Flagg, 20, charging him with Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, Illegal Possession of Alcohol, Open Container Violation and Breach of Bail. He was transported to the Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending a court hearing on August 31st in Henniker District Court.

CONDUCT AFTER AN ACCIDENT: Police began investigating a report involving someone leaving the scene of an accident on North Bennington Road. Investigation continues.

ARRESTS: After making a motor vehicle stop police arrested Jessica Smith, 24, of Deering charging her with Illegal Possession of Controlled Drug believed to be cocaine, Illegal Drugs in a Motor Vehicle and Open Container Violation. A passenger, Larry Hardy, 34, of Hillsborough was charged with Open Container Violation and taken into Protective Custody. Both were released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an October 8th court date in Henniker District Court.


August 30th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a fire call on Pleasant Street.

ANIMAL: Police received a report from a Durgin Road residence regarding a dog barking at night.

ALARM: Police received an alarm call from a Starrett Road residence. It was found to have been accidental.


August 31st

ANIMAL: Police received a report from a Francestown Road residence regarding a dog being left in a vehicle overnight.

CIVIL: Police received a report of an issue between landlord/tenant. It was determined to be a civil issue.

LITTERING: Police received a report of littering on Bible Hill Road.
