Recent Calls - Bennington Police Log

SEPTEMBER 2009

POLICE HANDLED THE FOLLOWING CALLS FOR SERVICE:


September 1st

THEFT: Police took a report of theft. Items taken were a generator and a chainsaw.

ANIMAL: Police issued summons for a resident who failed to register her dogs.


September 2nd

CIVIL: Police got involved in a landlord / tenant issue involving squatting.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police in looking for a subject.


September 4th

SECURITY CHECK: Police found a residential door open on Birch Glen Drive. No problems were found and the door was secured.

INVESTIGATION: Police received a report of people drinking in the parking lot of Harris’ Mini Mart. No problems were found.

ARREST: Police arrested Patrick Sanders, 46, Bennington charging him with Illegal Possession of a Controlled Drug believed to be marijuana. He was released on personal recognizance bail pending an October 8th court date in Henniker District Court.

ANIMAL: Police picked up a dog running at large on State Route 202 and returned him home.


September 5th

ALARM: Police responded to a residential alarm on Onset Road. It was found to have been a false alarm.

ANIMAL: Police began investigating a case of a dog which was stolen. The dog was located; however, the investigation continues.


September 6th

ANIMAL: Police mediated a dispute between neighbors on Durgin Road involving a barking dog complaint.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Police received a report of a suspicious person on Francestown Road. The person was not found.


September 7th

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Police responded to Newhall Field for a report of vandalism. Investigation continues.

ANIMAL: Police mediated a dispute on Starrett Road between neighbors. The dispute was over control of dogs.

THEFT: Police took a report of a theft of a dirt bike from State Route 202.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT/SUMMONS: Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Francestown Road. Investigation resulted in Dylan Evans, 18, of Jaffrey getting a summons for Negligent Driving.

ANIMAL: Police returned a dog home after it was found sleeping on someone’s porch.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with an unwanted subject call on Goodell Road.

OHRV: Police received a report of an Off Road Recreational Vehicle operating on roadway while not registered. Police spoke to the owner.


September 8th

ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop, police arrested Erick Couturier, 17, of Francestown charging him with Driving While Intoxicated, Criminal Threatening and Resisting Arrest. He was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an October 8th court date in Henniker District Court.

ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop police arrested the 16 year old passenger, of Lyndenborough, charging her with Illegal Possession of Alcohol. She was released on a summons pending an October 8th court date in Henniker District Court.

THEFT OF SERVICES: Police took a report of theft of services for repair work which was never completed. The work involved paying for the repairs of a motorcycle and the work not being done.

E911: Police received an Emergency 911 call from a Hancock Road residence. It was found to have been accidental.

ALARM: Police responded to an alarm call at a local business. No problems were found.


September 9th

ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop police arrested Erin O’Mara, 19, of Hillsborough charging her with Driving After Suspension. She was released on $1000 personal recognizance bail pending an October 8th court date in Henniker District Court. The passenger, Mark Davies, 18, of Hillsborough charging him with Violation of Bail Conditions. He was released on $200 cash bail pending an October 8th court date at Hillsborough District Court.

E911: Police responded to a residence on Birch Glen Drive for an Emergency 911 call. It was found to have been accidental.


September 10th

ANIMAL: Police received a report of chickens running around in the roadway. Police spoke to the owner about keeping the chickens on her property.


September 11th

ARREST: Police arrested Shawn Durgin, 19, of Antrim charging him on a warrant for Failure to Appear to answer the charges of Illegal Transportation of Alcohol. He was released on $200 personal recognizance bail pending an October 8th court date in Henniker District Court.

E911: Police responded to a local business for an Emergency 911 call. It was accidental.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with an arrest warrant on Concord Street.

CIVIL: Police received a report involving unwanted phone calls from an ex-husband.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with two intoxicated subjects on Main Street.


September 13th

NOISE: Police received a report of loud noise from a Bible Hill Road residence. The noise was the result of excessive use of OHRV’s. The owner was spoken to and quieted down for the evening.

ANIMAL: Police were startled when they found a moose outside the police station. It eventually made its way through town and into the woods.

ILLEGAL BURN: Police received a report of a possible illegal burn on State Route 202. The information was turned over to the fire department.


September 14th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call at the Monadnock Paper Mills.


September 15th

HARASSMENT: Police received a report of harassment from an Onset Road resident involving a neighbor always complaining about dog issues.


September 16th

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: Police received a report of suspicious activity on Main Street. Nothing was found.


September 17th

ARREST: Police arrested Levi Fogg of Antrim charging him with Illegal Possession of Drugs and two arrest warrants.


September 18th

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a sick dog on Main Street. It was gone by time police arrived.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Fire Department with a call for service at the elementary school. The issue was a smoking alarm panel.

ARREST: Police arrested Levi Fogg of Antrim charging him with Illegal Possession of a Controlled Drug with intent to Distribute. He was held in the county jail on $7500 cash bail.


September 19th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Birch Glen Drive.

ANIMAL: Police began investigating a cruelty to animal case at a Francestown Road residence.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Antrim Police with a disturbance call at a local bar.


September 21st

UNWANTED PERSON: Police responded to a South Bennington Road residence for a report of an unwanted person. She was advised to leave which she did.

TRESPASSING: Police received a report from a North Bennington Road residence involving trespassing.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle on Birch Glen Drive. It was gone by the time police arrived.


September 22nd

CIVIL: Police received a report involving a dispute between landlord and tenant. The issue was over the way the property was left when the tenant moved out.

ANIMAL: Police received a report of a loose horse on Bible Hill Road. It was returned home.


September 23rd

E911: Police responded to a local business for an Emergency 911 call. No problems were found.


September 24th

ARREST: After making a motor vehicle stop police arrested Jacob Nixon, 20, of Bennington charging him with Driving After Suspension, Possession of Alcohol and Illegal Possession of Controlled Drug. He was released on personal recognizance bail pending a court date.


September 25th

CRIMINAL THREATENING: Police began investigating a report of criminal threatening. This is an ongoing issue between father and daughter.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue Department with a medical call on Bible Hill Road.


September 26th

CIVIL: Police mediated a dispute over property.

CIVIL: Police received a report of a son not being returned home on time.

ANIMAL: Police received a report from an Acre Street resident regarding a barking dog issue.


September 27th

OHRV: Police received a report of an Off Road Recreational Vehicle operating on North Bennington Road. They did not find the OHRV.


September 28th

CIVIL: Police received a report of damage done to a residence on Starrett Road. Damage was done by ex-tenant.

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Rescue with a medical call on State Route 202.

THEFT: Police took a report of theft involving pieces being missing from a motor vehicle.


September 29th

MUTUAL AID: Police assisted the Bennington Fire Department with a stove fire call for service on Rogers Road.

CITIZEN ASSIST: Police assisted a motorist who had mechanical problems.

THREATENING: Police took a threat report involving a rock being thrown at someone.


September 30th

TREE: Police received a report of a down tree blocking roadway on Francestown Road. Tree was removed by time police arrived.
